It was Sunday morning and I had just gotten out of bed. I had done my usual morning routine. Get up, get dressed, throw up, brush teeth and hair, throw up again, brush teeth again, go downstairs and say hello to mom and Rory.
"Hey hon, hopefully today the doctor can provide you with something to stop you from throwing up." Mom says
"Yeah, I threw up twice this morning." I groan.
"Sorry babe."
"I thought we could go by Luke's and get some breakfast before going to the doctors. Rory is going to the library as well." She explains
"Yeah, that sounds good. I'll go get my shoes on." I say and walk towards the front door
"Hello Lucas." I say as I walk through the door to the diner with mom and Rory.
"Victoria." He says and gives me a death stare.
"Coffee please." Mom says pleading for coffee.
"No" Luke responds bluntly
"Please Luke!"
"No."
"Tori, Rory, come over here and do puppy eyes." Mom says to me
"Fine." Luke says as he can't say no to the Gilmore girls' puppy eyes.
"I'll have a blueberry muffin please Luke." I ask politely
"Chocolate chip pancakes with bacon on the side." Rory says
"Pancakes with bacon on top please." Mom says
"Tori, are you after any books? I'm going to the library and I can always pick you one up." Rory offers
"Aww, thanks Rory. I'm after Jane eyre if they have it." I say politely
"Okay."
"Enjoy." Luke says emotionless as he hands us out breakfasts.
"Thanks Luke." The three of us say
After breakfast, me, mom and Rory separate.
Mom and me had to drive to the hospital which was in Hartford and we signed in.
Whilst waiting in the waiting room, I got a sudden wave of anxiety. What if there is something seriously wrong with me? What if this is life changing?
"Mom I'm worried." I say quietly
"Why babe?"
"I don't know, what if it something life changing?"
"If it is, you will have so many people with you every step of the way hon. I will never leave your side." She says encouragingly
"Thanks mom." I say and rest my head on her shoulders.
"Victoria Gilmore." I hear a nurse say.
"Hello Victoria, I'm Dr Wilson, I'll be having a look to see what is wrong. So can you explain why you are here." He says
"Every morning I get an urge to throw up and I am constantly tired although I get a good night sleep every night." I explain
"Okay, anything else. Have you been experiencing any pain anywhere?" He asks
"Thinking about it, I sometimes do get cramps in my lower abdomen but I just think it's nothing." I say
"Okay, well, can you please lay on the bed and lift up your T-shirt so I can have a feel." He says whilst politely smiling.
"Yeah, sure."
He then feels around and we go and sit back down at the desk.
Mom takes my hand in hers as he begins to speak.
