12:01pm

i knock on anna's door and lean against the frame.

"what's up? what happened with your mom?" i ask her.

"i'm supposedly not allowed to talk to you," she chuckles, laying on her back on her bed.

"what? why?" i question.

"who knows. ann spoke, so i must do," she says, flailing her hand around like she's shooing away a peasant.

"what did i do?" i ask.

why would ann not want her teammates to get to know each other?

"i think this is about me," she says, looking at me.

"what about you?" i question.

she sits up, looking at me.

"you ask too many questions," she says, looking me up and down.

"i'm curious."

"what? you want to sneak around like we're in the movies?" she chuckles.

"i think that's what you want to do," i tell her. "we can hate each other in front of your mom though. i'm cool with that. something tells me you couldn't stay away from me even if you tried to."

"ha. ha. very funny," she says, rolling her eyes. "i'm going to take a nap. goodbye." she turns over, giving me her back.

i nod and head to my room, that's a few ways down. i see chin waiting for the elevator and watch it slide open.

borkov stands there, holding something wrapped up in a blanket.

what the fuck is that?

"next one chin," he tells the younger boy and the doors begin to close.

borkov and i catch eyes as the doors close.

was that a body?

if so, that was a child.

chin turns around and looks at me.

"that was weird right?" he asks me.

i nod.

"yeah, that was mad weird," i answer him.

i don't think i want to know.

i continue to and enter my room, laying on my bed.

memories will pop up.

right?
