With age comes the realization that most of your thoughts should not be spoken out loud, and it is better to be a well of dead secrets. Most thoughts should not be spoken out loud. Not for everyone, and certainly not always necessary to be an open book.
Almost all your thoughts should be only yours and no one else's. Especially ideas. Do you want your idea not to be stolen before you give it life? Then just don't say it out loud. People tend to be gullible, but in general, we don't need trust. Trust is a way to know who can try to destroy you, but a person can live without it. Your mind is your main hiding cache.
