Flashback a few days before Friends Giving

"I'm sorry but did I pass by a flour covered Enzo," Lucca chuckled while grabbing the brownie batter bowl from my hands.

"YOU JERK, don't take my batter," I scolded while snatching my chocolate goodness back. "And yes, we may have gone into a slight altercation while making the batter."

Giving me a quick up & down he raised his eyebrows. "If that's the case, why are you flour less?"

"I was wearing an apron," pointing my finger to the red fabric on the counter that was dusted with floor.

"It's unbelievable." He deadpanned while scooting himself onto the counter

"That we had a flour fight? "I questioned while sitting myself on the counter across from him.

"No, you have him making brownies... from scratch not from box mix but from scratch. You know lately I have seen him do a lot of things that I thought I would never see him do."

Lately Enzo has been pretty adamant about us doing something together at least every other day. Yes, we've done the super cutesy dates like wine tasting, hikes, concerts, mini golfing and more.

But Enzo is fine with just coming over and us working on our individual work and then just falling asleep in each other's arms.

"Ya, I guess he has," I can't help the smile that is sketched on my face as I think of the fun we've been having. But also, how happy Enzo has been.

Every day I'm with him it's like some of the darkness around him is slowly chipping away.

I'm still not Bob the Builder and I'm not purposely trying to change him, he's changing himself though- for me.

"I'm going to be the man you deserve, bambina." He would always mutter to me while leaving a gentle kiss on my head when he thought I was asleep.

"He's never been happier, or nicer." Meeting his eyes, I just assumed that I misheard him because the way he said it- was almost like he was disgusted that Enzo was becoming a better man.

I was right about one thing: he was disgusted.

I was right about one thing: he was disgusted
