I woke up to a slight nudge and a soft voice calling out my name, I open my eyes to see Savannah stood to the side of me with a warm smile on her rosy lips which I return back, I move myself back into the chair so I'm a bit more comfortable before clearing my throat
"Hey James, we're going to wake Riley up now so she can start pushing, we're all ready to go so it won't be long until your babies are here" Savannah explains
"Alright" I say whilst yawning before attempting to wake Riley up, it was quite difficult to even get Riley to stir but after a few minutes Riley finally opened her eyes
"Riley we're going to start pushing soon, are you able to wake up for us please?" Savannah asks
"Okay I'll try my best to stay awake" Riley yawns before she rubs her eyes
You can tell that Riley clearly hasn't had a lot of sleep due to the dark puffy circles underneath her lifeless eyes, if I'm honest I've got no clue as to how Riley will be able to push both babies out while she's in the state that she is but one thing I do know is that Riley is a fighter no matter what the circumstances are but you can't help if your body is shutting down
I just worry that if Riley's body shuts down that Riley will blame herself for it when it isn't her fault at all
I know this wasn't how Riley wanted to bring the babies into this world either, if Riley had her way and mine for that matter we both would be in our little bubble with no worries in the world however that just isn't the case at all
More midwives had poured into the room watching Riley about to push and I could already see that Riley wanted to go back to sleep so I grab hold of her hand to bring her attention to me
"Stay awake my love, we need to bring the twins into this world now" I softly say before planting a kiss on the back of her hand causing her to smile and try and fight her sleep
"Right Riley when I tell you to push you've got to push as hard as you can okay? You'll need to tuck your chin into a chest and push down" Savannah explains causing Riley to nod her head
It was all starting to get very real now.. will we be able to get through this bit with no issues? God I hope so

Riley's been trying to push now for about half an hour and we weren't really getting anywhere, Riley hasn't been able to push as hard as she needs to so the nurse has suggested to use forceps however that still isn't helping at all
You could see the worry on each of the midwives faces as they try and figure out any other options rather then taking us to theatre however the one who was stood next to the machines had her eyes fixed on it indicating something was going on
"Riley we now need to go to theatre since the twins aren't able to breath anymore from the amount of stress that's going on so we're going to get you down there as quickly as we can" the midwife explains to Riley but Riley wasn't listening she was trying so hard to fight her sleep but eventually she just couldn't anymore
I stand up and gather our things while the midwives sort all of the things that they need too and it wasn't long before we was being wheeled down some corridors once again
I found it hard to keep up and listen in to what they were saying to me but as we reach the big wooden doors I'm passed over some scrubs which I quickly put on so I don't hold us back
Least this way Riley can rest and our twins are delivered safely and quickly which is exactly what we need now and I'm proud of Riley for trying her hardest
