Riley

It's been hours since we were back in the same place as before, we had only managed 2 days out of the hospital all together and now we're straight back
We still haven't been told any information and quite frankly I don't think they know what's going on themselves

"Hey guys so your dad is awake now but he's hooked up to some machines to help his breathing so it doesn't stop again.. we've run every test we can think of so we're waiting for results to come back, it's strange this has happened and we're unsure on the link it's got with Patrick not taking his medication or eating but we believe it plays a part" Jonah explains

Luckily dad was assigned to Jonah again, someone who knew us which is something we all needed and if dads stable he's going ti be able to hear Jonah's voice and know himself that he's in safe hands

"How're you feeling James? I know what you saw was quite traumatic" Jonah sympathetically asks in a soft voice
"It's all I've been replaying in my head, I can't get rid of it" James explains
"What about you Riley? I know you only saw the situation quite briefly but it's still a traumatic thing to experience especially since it's your dad" Jonah asks me

"It's the same as James, it's constantly in my head as well" I softly explain
"We do have someone here at the hospital who can help with traumatic experiences like this so if you both want to would you like to visit her? She's a on site therapist, I can see if she's free" Jonah explains
I look over at James and we both share the same look before nodding our heads
"Yeah please Jonah that'll be great" I say giving Jonah a slight smile

"Are we able to see dad yet or is it best we wait" I question
"That's entirely up to you, we all can go in together and if it's too much we can turn around at any time or I can leave you both in Patrick's room, if it gets too much we can come and sit back here until you see the therapist" Jonah explains
"We can give it a try can't we?" James says with a slight hint of hope

We all stand up and I grab James' hand in mine before we both follow Jonah to room 345 and Jonah stops outside the door before turning to us
"Are you guys ready or do you want to turn around?" Jonah asks
"I'm ready" I whisper while not breaking eye contact with the white flooring
"I'm ready too" James whispers behind me tightening his grip on my hand

Jonah opens the door and walks in first before holding the door open for us
We both walk in and eventually I take my eyes off of the floor to see dad laying helplessly on the bed.. I'm pretty sure it was as helpless as I looked just a few days prior

"As soon as the tests are back I'll come in and explain everything regardless of if we found something or not just so then you are aware of what's been tested, if it gets too much just go back and wait at those chairs you were sat in earlier, I'll come back with the therapist later on so she'll know who you are regardless of where you are" Jonah explains
"Thank you Jonah, hopefully with the tests we'll be able to find some answers" James softly says
"I really hope we do as well, least then we're able to treat it" Jonah replies with a little sigh at the end

Jonah leaves shortly after our conversation so it just left James and I in here
We both look over at dad and shake our heads.. how didn't we notice that something was wrong
We're around dad all the time so how didn't we see the signs
