Double Standards

It's been a few weeks and I'm now finally on my way home for the first time in what felt like forever and I couldn't be more happier
James is driving me back while dad is already in bed after taking his medication but I'm glad James and I can finally have time just the two of us

We pull into the driveway and head inside, I've had to bring home a wheelchair since I'm still quite weak from the multiple bleeds on the brain I had
James rushed to my side to make sure I didn't even attempt to walk on my own and sat me down on the sofa while he unpacked everything else

After that was all done it was pretty late so we decided to just relax in the living room watching some films and it truly felt like it used to
I could sense that James was a little bit on edge like he was inside his own head but I hope whatever it is he talks to me about it this time

"Hey Ri" James mumbles timidly
"Yeah" I reply causing James to take a big gulp
"Well I've been saving up money for quite some time now and I've been thinking that with the twins that we could start looking at houses together?" James starts to say "I want nothing more then to have a family with you, I want everything with you Riley as long as you want it too" James continues

A smile creeps up on my face causing James to panic slightly
"I'd love to, I've got saving too but who would of thought that you do" I giggle
"Hey why does that surprise you" James chuckles
"I mean it's you James since when have you been good with money" I sarcastically say
"Uhm since a few years now thank you very much" James replied with a infectious smile on his face

"So we're really doing it" I whisper "We're really doing life together" I continue
"Yeah we really are" James whispers back placing his hand gently onto my stomach before laying his head beside his hand
Seeing James be this hands on and loving to our children already is honestly incredible it's something I've always wanted

"So talking about houses how's a 3 bed house sound?" I suggest with a raised eyebrow
"Oh that sounds perfect but if we have more children we need to expand" James whispers
"Yeah we do but let's focus on the now first please I haven't even popped these out yet" I giggle

"Sorry I can't help myself, you'll be an amazing mum" James says turning his head to face mine before planting a passionate kiss on my lips
I place my hands on either side of James' face making him deepen the kiss causing me to moan slightly

I truly do love James and I really hope this happiness lasts forever
The future does look promising and I couldn't help but continue to think about that for the rest of the night

"Morning my love" James mumbles
"When did we come bed last night?" I groan
"You fell asleep on the sofa so I carried you upstairs" James explains
"Thank you" I reply grabbing James' hand and pecking the back of it

"I've booked us an appointment to see this house, it's only 15 minutes away from here, it's got 3 bedrooms however we could easily turn another room into a bedroom if needed too and it's modern, which is something I know you'd love" James explains while showing me the pictures

"Wow you picked good" I say while flicking through them "it's honestly such a nice house, when's the meeting?" I ask
"It's in an hour and a half" James admits
"Oh you know I hate rushing to get ready" I groan causing James to laugh

"Let's go grab a shower together and we'll get ready, don't worry we've got plenty of time" James calmly explains before attempting to pull me out of bed
I slowly give in and let James take the lead, we have a quick shower and then I check the weather app to find out what it was deciding to do today
Of course it was meant to be miserable so I grabbed a pair of brown leggings with a matching long sleeve crop top before grabbing an oversized jacket to go over the top

I decided to do minimal makeup since we wouldn't be out for long and I chucked my hair up into a bun
"Aye for once I'm ready before you" I smirk
"I can easily change that" James playfully says glancing down at his water bottle
"Okay okay I'm obviously the one that's going to make us late" I reply causing James to laugh

"Rigjt are we ready?" James finally says causing me to jump up off the bed in excitement
"Let me go check up on dad first" I say as I get into the landing
"He's gone back to sleep, I was helping him with his medication which is why you finished before me" James says while tapping his finger on the end of my nose playfully
"Alright let's go then" I say excitedly before leaning up and planting a kiss on James' soft red lips
