No one dared to surprise me before. Back then, I'm daydreaming of getting to hold a camera while watching the sunset with someone. Someone with whom my heart beats and helps me experience the feeling of being in love.
This time... Ian surprised me. I feel like he's the one who I imagined before.
"Sorry... Hindi pa pala maayos nang dumating tayo. Pero hayaan mo, hanggang mamaya pa naman tayo rito kaya may oras pa si Chef sa ni-request kong pagkain." Ngumiti siya sa akin habang kinakamot ang batok na animong nahihiya.
I stared at his face. The edge of my eyes started to heat up. I knew that in any moment, tears would come up. But I'm trying my best to hold it so he won't notice. We were in the middle of the Sumlang Lake. We are riding this bamboo raft, and now there are a lot of lights decorated that make it look nice. There is also a set of tables for the both of us. The bouquet of red roses is in front of me, and some petals are also around the bamboo raft.
Alas sais na kaya namangha ako nang umilaw ang mga dekorasyon na fairy lights sa paligid. Kitang ang magandang hugis ng Mayon at ang papalubog na araw sa gawing kanluran. We were not alone in the bamboo raft. There's a guy who's responsible for kayaking, and there are other two people who play the violin and piano. Medyo malayo rin ng kaunti ang distansya nila dahil malaki naman ang kawayang sinasakyan namin.
"Hindi mo ba nagustuhan?" Ian sounded so nervous and that made me laugh to loosen up the mood.
Who wouldn't like this preparation!? He rented this bamboo raft for five hours just to spend my time with me!
"I-I..." I mumbled and avoided his gaze.
Tumulo ang luha ko kaya umatras ako. Hindi ko mapigilan ang nararamdaman ko. Masyado akong masaya sa totoo lang. I don't know how should explain this to him, but all I know is... I appreciate his efforts.
"May problema ba? Ayaw mo ba? Ayos lang naman... Uwi nalang tayo baka hindi maayos ang nararamdaman mo---"
"N-No... No, Ian. Let's stay here... Let me spend my time with you here..." I said softly without looking at his eyes. I heard him sighed deeply and held my hand.
"Kung napipilitan ka---"
"I am not! I mean, I liked it---no I loved it!" I finally said.
Kita ko ang pagpungay ng mga mata niya. Lumapit siya at niyakap ako. Bumaon ang mukha niya sa leeg ko kaya ramdam na ramdam ko ang hininga niya. Nang ilang sandali pa ay lumayo siya nang hindi nawawala ang ngiti sa labi. Tiningnan niya ang dalawang lalaking tumutogtog at sinenyasan ito.
The song 'Stuck With U' played, and that's the time Ian offered his hand on me.
"Pwede ko bang isayaw ang magiging reyna ng buhay ko?" Nakangiting tanong niya.
His flowery words always make my heart flutter. Hindi ko alam kung masyado nga ba talaga siyang bolero o sadyang ang dami niya lang nalalaman na kung ano-ano.
"O-Of course..." I replied as I accepted his hand and placed my right hand on his shoulder.
He slowly ran his hand around my waist and pulled me to him. I left my mouth open when he squeezed it and that made me flinch.
Damn, this guy! Alam niya namang may kiliti ako!
Sinamaan ko siya nang tingin pero tumawa lang siya. Sumeryoso siyang muli at tiningnan ako nang masinsinan.
"Salamat." He uttered.
"Para saan?"
"Salamat dahil pinapasaya mo ako."
