AFTER A FAILED ATTEMPT TO EXTERMINATE HARRY, voldemort had all of his minions doing the most to ensure that the wizarding world knew who he was and what he wanted.

and for aurelia that meant standing in when he wasn't around.

she'd been to the ministry and back to the manor over the past few weeks as the deatheaters made it theirs.

"as your new minister for magic," pius spoke, aurelia could feel his nervousness from her being so close. "i promise to restore this temple of tolerance to its former glory."

voldemort had specifically sent aurelia to the ministry to keep and eye on things and to make sure anyone who thought they could oppose him knew better.

she was tasked to kill anyone who stepped out of line on sight.

"therefore beginning today, each employee will see themselves for evaluation. but know this—you have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide."

aurelia clawed her wrist from behind her back as delores umbridge giggled as if pius had said something funny.

"thank you." pius spoke, clapping his hands as everyone began to disperse. "more information to come."

aurelia couldn't help but think how funny the situation could be if one of her friends were here, how they'd make her laugh as she tried to ignore pius's actions on certain things and umbridge's overall presence.

she couldn't help but feel like an adult but she knew deep down she was still a motherless child in need of love and care.

"aurelia would you please make do as miss umbridge's assistant until she finds one that is suitable."

pius's request came out as more of a statement than anything and aurelia knew she had power over them regardless of her age so she simply said, "no."

"i'm sorry?"

"i won't be miss umbridge's assistant. i'd rather do something more valuable with my time."

pius seemed shocked by her initiative but felt he was in no place to oppose her.

"well not full time but i will need you to help her when we begin evaluations and such."

"i'll do it when the time comes then." she smiled, turning on her heel to go up to the room that held records for all the wizarding schools.

even though she was out and about around the ministry it didn't mean she was allowed out into the streets or anywhere else for that matter.

she quickly walked to the section labeled hogwarts as a pen and paper danced in the air, signaling that names were still being written.
