Many women wonder if dark spotting in the last days of menstruation is a normal part of their periods or if only bleeding counts.
When your period is ending, bleeding gradually decreases. It's normal to have 1-2 days of light bloody discharge after 3-5 days of bleeding. If after waking up you notice less discharge, menstruation has begun to decline. The period is considered complete only when discharge no longer contains blood.
