Alternate kami nila Ken at Raiden na nagbantay kay Rose. I had never been this scared in my entire life until I saw the doctors reviving Rose. It's traumatic... more than the seen of my mom leaving the house with her suitcases.
Lego keeps calling us and he is watching Rose through Ken's phone. The misery on his face is too much but I understood him now. He needs to heal and Rose doesn't deserve a broken man.
Brix stayed with me when it was my time to watch Rose. She's too pale and too fragile behind the glass window of ICU.
"Rose, you have to make it. If you can't how can you expect me to make it?"
"Mitch—"
"She's my hero when it comes to life lessons. I need her hon; I really need my friend."
"She's out of danger. Gigising na rin 'yang si Rose," Brix replied to me.
"I talked to Ken the other day when I saw him at ADMU. I am planning to rent a small apartment for Rose so she will be near our uni and she can be in a good environment while she's healing. Ken agreed with my idea. We only need Rose to agree with us. Pero super tigas ng ulo ni Rose."
"Kausapin natin 'yong doctor niya. Baka sakaling iyon ang maka-convince kay Rose o kaya si Blaze kaya?"
"How is sir?" I took a deep breath and rest my head on Brix's shoulder.
"Nagsasalita na. Dadalaw ng asana ngayon dito kaya lang sabi ko nasa ICU pa si Rose. Kapag nagising na lang daw pupunta ang Overdrive."
"She's moving." I saw Rose's fingers move and I immediately run towards the nurse station. I left Brix looking lost on why I had run away.
Hila-hila ko ang isang nurse when I went back.
"She's moving. She moves... 'di ba, hon?"
"Dumilat na nga kaya lang umalis ka agad. Pero pumikit ulit," Brix replied.
Napatakip ako sa mouth ko to suppress my tili.
Rose will be fine.
As soon as Rose opened her eyes again, I called Ken to tell him the good news. Rose is on and off on sleep but when Ken and Raiden arrive that morning, she's fully awake.
I cried holding her when we were given a go signal that we can talk to her. Rose didn't know what happened but as soon as she saw the poging Doctor Trevor, alam na niyang pagagalitan na siya.
Rose was transferred to a private room. Brix still stayed with me. He was there holding me the whole time. Kung hindi ko pa love itong mokong na ito, I might fall in love with him for taking care of me while I am taking care of my friend.
"'Di ba Sir Blaze, much better kung sa apartment near school na lang si Rose?" I asked when Sir Blaze the always galit na teacher make pangaral kay Rose about health.
Ayaw kasing pumayag ni Rose sa proposition ko kaya blackmail it is na ito.
"Pumayag ka na," utos ni Sir Blaze. Natawa si Brix na nakaupo sa tabi ko.
Napakunot ang noo ni Rose sa amin.
"Ang mahal—" angal niya agad.
"Bayad na ang rent for three years," I said like it's no big deal.
"Diyos ko, aatakihin ako sa inyo." Nahiga si Rose sa kamay at pumikit.
"Sino titira doon?" tanong ko kay Brix. He was just laughing at my frustrations.
"Rose—" Ken called her.
Ken started to talk to her again. Napapakamot ako ng ulo sa tigas ng ulo ni Rose.
"Papayag din 'yan. Relax ka lang," Brix whispered to me.
So, I waited and waited until Doc. Trevor checked on her and heard us still convincing her.
"Bakit ayaw mong lumipat?" tanong ni Doc. Trevor kay Rose. "Mas tahimik, mas maganda ang environment mo, mas mabilis ang recovery."
"Kasi Doc.—"
"Hindi kita ni-revive ng dalawang beses para lang atakahin ulit sa squatter. Kapag may mga taong tumutulong, huwag pairalin ang pride, Rose. They are your friends."
Natahimik si Rose.
"It's too much," Rose said softly that melt my heart.
"It's not too much," Kenshin replied to her which made Brix snorted.
"Hindi naman pala too much. Lumipat ka na kung ayaw mong manatili dito sa hospital—"
Nanlaki ang mata ni Rose at mabilis na umiling.
"Good. It's either that or dito ka sa St. Lukes magpapahinga."
"Okay," nanlalambot na sagot ni Rose. Sa wakas, natapos na ang debate.
"Good, so you will go directly there..."
"'Yong mga gamit ko pa," angal ni Rose.
Naririnig ko ng tumatawa si Brix sa tabi ko. I bit my lips before I said, "I already hired some helpers to pack your things."
Napa-face palm si Rose sa akin.
"You're welcome, Rose."
Hay, ang saya ko na nito pero mas mukhang masaya si Brix dahil tawa siya nang tawa.
"What's funny?" I asked him.
"You're so cute," he replied.
I know, right?
