Today was the day. Russia had planned it out ever since the night of their most recent meeting with the other countryhumans. He knew that he wanted to officially ask America to be his boyfriend.

And boy was he nervous.

Even though Russia knew that the answer was likely a yes, he still felt very worried. Firstly, something could go horribly wrong when he was asking and mess everything up. And then there was a chance that America might say that he doesn't want to be his boyfriend, which felt unlikely, but who knows? It could happen. Yes, it was annoying that Russia was thinking stuff like that. Just imagine how Russia felt. He was the one hearing those thoughts.

Russia looked at his phone and picked it up. He was going to need a little help.

WalkingTreeGuy: Hey

(Alaska) UrsaMajor: hey papa

WalkingTreeGuy: I need your help with something, but you have to swear not to tell anyone, okay?

On the other side of the conversation, Alaska raised his eyebrow. How interesting.

UrsaMajor: what do you need help with?

It took a minute or two for Russia to gather up his courage and tell Alaska what he wanted to do.

WalkingTreeGuy: I'm going to ask America to be my boyfriend.

Alaska stared at his screen. Was he reading that right? His papa wanted to ask his father to be his boyfriend? About frickin' time! He grinned to himself. Oh man, California would be so fucking jealous when he finds out because Alaska knew before him. He was planning on rubbing this in his face for the next decade, maybe the next century if time permitted him so.

Alaska's a good brother.

UrsaMajor: alright, what is it you want me to do?

WalkingTreeGuy: I know that America's having dinner with his adopted family and Confederacy. Did he tell you what time he'll be back?

UrsaMajor: yeah, he said he'll be back by curfew

Alright, that was definitely something Russia needed to keep in mind.

WalkingTreeGuy: Okay, do you know a place I could go where your siblings and Confederacy wouldn't walk in on me asking?

UrsaMajor: well, you can ask him in the woods
we're allowed to go out there as long as we're careful to not be spotted, and there's a lot of space, so it'll take a while at least to find you guys if anyone decides to go outside

WalkingTreeGuy: Alright, last thing. I need you to create a distraction so that people don't follow us out when I ask him.

UrsaMajor: okay, i have something in mind. just nod at me when you want me to do it and don't say anything and i'll nod back at you

WalkingTreeGuy: Perfect, thanks Alaska

UrsaMajor: yeah, no problem papa

Alaska set his phone on his lap and continued watching Gravity Falls with Oregon, grinning to himself. This was gonna be good.

But, then the mood was ruined a little bit.

Idaho, who sat with Guam, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Mississippi, and New Mexico glanced at his siblings before slapping down a red five. "Uno!" he yelled.

Guam stared at the pile on the Monopoly board with a dead look on her face with an expression that screamed 'kill me, end my suffering.' "I don't even know what we're playing anymore," she said monotonously.
