I was just teaching Tenzin air bending, "Five minute break." I said, he nodded. Then my elder son came over, "Hey Bumi, how's sword training with your Uncle Sokka?" I asked, he gave a thumbs up. "You want something, don't you?" I ask, he shakes his head. "Dad, you know how you took away Uncle Zuko's father's bending?" He wondered, I nodded as I drank some water. "Well, I was thinking. Could you give me water or air bending?" He asked, my heart melted at this question.
"I can only give bending to people who had it taken away-" I admit, he looks at the ground. "But I wanna be special-" He half begs, my heart melts more. "Bumi, you are special. No one can make people laugh like you!" I say, he still looks at the ground. I speak, "Look up." He does as he's told, "I'm about to say something you might find offensive, but trust me. I say this as anything but an insult." I mention, he nods. "Bumi, you're a mad genius." I laugh, he does too.
