After Ba Sing Se, Zuko has a change of heart and fakes his death. He travels saving Fire Nation villages as the Blue Spirit. On one of his travels he encounters the Painted Lady. The two, both believed to be dead, now work together to save the nation from the inside. Romance blooms but danger causes Katara to run, with two extra packages. 15 years later and an unlikely encounter on Ember Island causes a whole lot of drama. OR Zuko becomes competent at handling angsty teenagers and realises... he's becoming his uncle.

Four years prior to the birth of Aang, Roku died, but was brought back, causing the Avatar Spirit to split. This fragment of the Avatar Spirit was imbued into a young airbender named Ann-Ji. This young girl chose the "Avatar toys" when she was a small child. However, because Avatar Roku was still alive, she was not acknowledged as the next Avatar. Four years after her birth, Roku passed without any possibility of revival, resulting in the birth of her half-brother, Aang. When placed in front of the toys that were to be chosen, Aang chose the same ones Ann-Gee and all other past Avatars had. They acknowledged him as the Avatar as Roku was no longer alive. Twelve years later, Ann-Ji was visiting her brother in the Southern Air Temple. When she was visiting, also happened to be when Aang was deciding to run away. Ann-Ji was going to try to persuade him to return, so she was hidden away in Appa's saddle. Then they encountered the storm that threw them into the ocean. To protect themselves, both Aang and Ann-Ji ended up freezing themselves in ice for one-hundred years, only to be found again by two siblings from the Southern Water Tribe.

Avatar Korra died, and the new avatar was born in a dark era where evil surrounded him from everywhere and everyone, even his own self. This earthbending avatar will have to go through a lot, make hard decisions and sacrifice a lot of things and people to restore harmony and peace into the spirit and material worlds. Reversed Roles: An ATLA Fanfic is a fanon that follows a plot similar to that of Avatar: The Last Airbender, reversing Azula and Zukos' roles with Katara and Sokkas'. The story features numerous changes from the series with new events and challenges and offers a new telling of the story of how Aang has to master the four elements and fight the Fire Lord.
