Good Riddance

HALOS hindi na maidilat ni Blair ang mata mula sa labis na pag-iyak.

"I don't want to abort my baby..." she continued pleading to her mother. "P-Please, Mama..."

She can't... she just can't. Hindi niya lang inaasahan ang pagdating ng baby nila ni Jack. Pero ayaw niya naman iyong mawala... O patayin! A five-week fetus is still a baby! Her baby, Jack's baby, their baby!

Pinagsalikop niya ang mga kamay. Hapding-hapdi na ang mga mata ngunit pinilit niyang dumilat. She turned to her father who's still silent. "P-Papa... please. Please, don't kill my baby. I'm begging!"

She turned and begged in front of her mother, again.

"Mag-aaral na po akong mabuti! I will still go to school hanggang sa hindi halata ang tiyan ko. I won't be lazy anymore after I give birth! I'll take whatever course you like me to take. I'll finish college with my baby. Susunod po ako sa lahat ng utos niyo! Lahat-lahat! Just let me keep my baby. Please, please..." She cried and begged. Cried and begged over and over.

"There's another way," Santino unexpectedly voiced out.

Napasinghap si Blair at bumaling dito. "P-Papa..."

"There's no other way, Santino!" kontra ng Mama niya. "Abortion is the best option!"

Hindi ito pinansin ni Santino at bumaling sa kanya diretso. "You'll go to another country. We'll keep you away from here until you gave birth. You'll study abroad and once you're old enough, you can go back here with your child. People will still talk but they cannot harm what's done."

Tumango-tango si Blair. Nabuhayan ng pag-asa... Her Papa was not totally agreeing with her mother!

"I'll follow everything you said, Papa. I'll go abroad..." Siguro maiintindihan naman ni Jack kung kailangan nilang maghiwalay muna ng maraming taon. Pero puwede naman itong bumisita sa kanya at sa baby nila, hindi ba?

"Take me anywhere, Papa. Just let me keep my baby," pagmamakaawa pa rin ni Blair. She's starting to sound like a little girl trying to save her favorite doll.

"Ilalayo mo sa'kin ang anak ko?!" singhal ni Bridgette.

"Sumama ka kung gusto mo," walang pakialam na sabi ng Papa niya.

"But my business is here—"

"Then that's your fucking selfish problem, Bridgette," putol ni Santino, nagtagis ang bagang.

Dalawang hakbang at hawak na siya ng Papa niya sa braso. "Get up. I'll take you home."

Napasinghap ang Mama niya. "Blair's going home with me!" sigaw nito na parang isang batang naagawan ng candy.

Isang matalim na titig mula kay Santino. Napaatras ang Mama niya.

"Get your fucking mind all together first then I'll let you have Blair before I take her abroad."

Yumakap si Blair sa braso ng Papa niya. Suddenly, the tables have turned. May kaya naman palang sumagip sa kanya ngayon...

"But, Santino, you knew abortion is the easiest thing to do to save Blair's youth and future!"
