"You're stepping down?" Carter asks. Secretary Wilkinson nods. "Why?"

"I've had this job a long time," he explains. "It really wears a person out. I want more time with my family. I want to write my memoirs."

"And who is going to replace you?" Carter asks.

"I was hoping it would be you," Secretary Wilkinson says.

"Me?" Carter asks. "You want me to move to D.C.?"

"That's how it typically works," Secretary Wilkinson says.

"I have to talk it over with Amber," Carter tells him.

"I know you want this," he says. "You deserve it."

Lila Jones wears her long blonde hair in a braid.

"She's dead, father," she says.

"Are you sure?" William asks.

"There are security cameras in the school," Lila explains. "We found the tapes. The half-vampire killed her. A group of werewolves finished her off."

"Eddie Rosen and werewolves of Lilac Valley, you just planned your funerals," William states.

"What do you think?" Carter asks.

"D.C.," Amber says. "When would we have to move?"

"Next week," Carter replies.

"It's Kyle's senior year," Amber says.

"He can finish it off," Carter points out. "He can live with Con and Eddie."

"Oh God," Amber says.

"Eddie is responsible," Carter says. "You've let Con watch Kyle over night before. He's seventeen. He'll be fine." Amber nods.

"I'm so proud of you," she says. Carter smiles.
