Chapter 67:

Arabella's POV:

I go home. Today was kinda interesting.

3 Weeks Later

Finally. I can see Sam!

We start driving to Atlanta.

It's a long car drive, and Amy stopped every 20 minutes to go pee.

But we finally get there.

Sam, once again, is standing in his front yard. I get out of the car and run up to him. I jump into his arms and he kisses me.

Chandler is just awkwardly standing there. "Oh hey Chandler," I say.

I hug Sam again.

We decide to walk to the park. An old favorite. The swings are fixed.

Sam and I sit on the swings, while Chandler sits in the mulch.

Poor loner...

Then a tall, blonde girl with brown eyes walks up to us. She has beach-wavy hair. She's tan, and looks like a surfer. At least her eyebrows are on fleek.

"Oh my gosh! Hey Sam!" She gives me a weird look. "Can you move for a second?" she asks. I shrug and she sort of shoves me toward Chandler. So I sit next to him.

"Who's that?" I ask.

He kind of looks annoyed. "That's Caroline," he rolls his eyes.

"Why does that name sound familiar...?" I try to remember where I've heard that name. And I don't know many Caroline's.

"That's Sam's ex," he says. I look up at him with the "say what?" look.

He continues, "When we did that Q/A livestream, someone asked if he had missed his ex. He said it was easier with Caroline, but he didn't actually mean it. Remember now?"

I've never seen Chandler act so pissed before.

"I'm guessing you don't like her...?" I ask.

"Oh, hell no," he smirks.

Sam and Caroline just keep talking. Like old friends. Like... Like a couple...

No, Arabella, he's not like that!

But he just seems so happy... I wonder why they broke up in the first place.

So I decide to make conversation with Chandler for once.

"How was he when I was gone?"

"Quite miserable."

"Oh. So nothing like how he is now?" I ask, watching him laugh.

"Not at all."

I sigh. "What now?" I ask. Chandler shrugs.

"So how've you been, Chandler?"

"Eh. I don't really feel like myself anymore."

"What makes you feel that way?" I ask.

"I'm not sure. It just feels like everything is out of place."

This is one of the first times I've ever seen usually goofy Chandler so serious. I sigh.

It starts to snow. "It's cold," I say.

He takes off his jacket and puts it around me. "Thanks," I say. He nods.

"Aren't you cold?" I ask, "You can have your jacket back."

"Nah."

"How long have they been talking?"

"Like, ten minutes."

"Ugh."

Snow falls all in my hair.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think Caroline keeps glaring at me. I just smile at her.

Haha, I don't think she likes me.

"Sam, it's cold. Let's go home," I smile.
