Colton POV
I get to work and my captain immediately throws me the keys. "Your on patrol today." He says. "Oh yeah." I say sarcastically. Seth laughs at his desk. I laugh a little too and put my bags down. "I'll be back this afternoon." I say waving. "Later man." Seth says. I get in the cop car and start my day. I pull over a few people, give a few tickets and then the radio goes off telling me there's been a robbery at a toy's r us near where I am. I turn my sirens on and drive to where it is. I get there and step out talking to bystanders telling me they saw the guy run into a old looking house down the street. I get in my car and drive down. Once I get there I park and get out. "Hello?" I say knocking on the door. The door opens to reveal a little girl. No shoes on the wood floor of the old tattered house and a Frozen nightgown. "Where's your daddy?" I ask. The door opens more to reveal a guy matching his description. Brown shaggy hair, dark jeans and a tattered shirt. I look at the little girl and then at her father. I motion for her father to come outside. "Go in with mommy." He says. The little girl moves aside revealing the stolen toy. "You might wanna get the toy..." I say. He gets it and I put him into the back of the car. I watch as he stairs back at the house as we drive off. I also watch as his face goes into shock as we pull into the Toy's R Us parking lot. I get out and open the back of the car. "Cmon." I say. He just gets out. I get the toy and we go inside. I motion for the other police there to leave and that I'm handling it. They leave. I get a cart and put the toy in. "How many kids you have?" I ask him leaning against the cart. "My d-daughter." "What's her name?" I ask. "Brooke." He says still kind of scared. "I'm not gonna arrest you." "W-why?" He asks. "I have kids too man... I'd do anything for them. Christmas is coming up in two weeks. Your daughter deserves a good Christmas... Pick up a few things, I'll pay." I say to him. "Are you serious?" He asks. "Yeah..." I say hesitating. I could get fired for this but you gotta give back for the holidays. He stole a toy for his daughter. He's not dangerous. I picks up two things and I tell him to get more. I start helping him pick out a few things that demi and I are planning on getting Kenzie. Once were done I pay and drive him back to the house. We get the presents in without his daughter noticing. "Thanks." The guy says on the verge of tears. I smile. "Happy holidays." I smile at his wife who's crying too before leaving. I get on my phone in the car and post on Twitter. "Sometimes you gotta do "the wrong thing" in order to do "the right thing". Give back for the holidays no matter the circumstance."

Demi POV
I'm home with the kids when I get a phone call from Corey's school telling me his teacher wants to meet with me. I get the kids together and go to Corey's school. "Corey... Wait In the hall with your brother and sister please." He nods and walks out. His teacher and I sit down. "I'm not sure if your aware but Corey's grades have been slipping..." I nod not aware of that cause I haven't had much input in Corey's life when Colton and I broke up. "His father told me you guys were having problems and that could be a reason..." I nod. "But today I asked him to read a couple sentences out loud and he was mixing up a few words which caused the kids to pick on him." I tensed up thinking about that feeling. "He hasn't had problems with bullying that I'm aware of but there were some laughs today... Have you ever had Corey checked for dyslexia?" "... No. It never crossed our minds." I say referring to me and Colton. "Okay. I'd recommend getting him checked for that. He knows all the words, he just mixes them up." I nod. "Thank you." I say. She smiles and we shake hands. I walk out and look at my son. "Am I in trouble?" He asks confused. "No bubba... Cmon." I say messing up his hair. I pick him CJ and take Kenzie's hand. We all get into the car and get home. I put CJ in his play toy and send Kenzie to the play room. "Corey. Come into the kitchen please." He follows me in. We sit down and I put his homework in front of him. "Can you read me the directions?" I ask. He starts and I follow him. He does mess up the words a lot. Just the b and d's and the m and w's. "Corey..." He looks at me. "How long has your reading me blurry?" I ask him. He shrugs. "A while." "Why didn't you say anything?" "Cause you and dad were always fighting." I look back at his homework. "Go up to your room and finish this. I'll call you down when dad gets home. Call me if you need help." He nods and takes his homework. I run my hands through my hair. It's scary to think he's dyslexic. That can be serious on his education. I want him to have the best and this is gonna be tough for him. I make him a doctors appointment for after school tomorrow and wait for Colton to get home.

Colton gets home with three boxes. "We need to talk." "Am I in trouble?" He asks. I laugh. "No! It's about your son." "Our son." He says. "I got called to his school today." "Is he in trouble?" "No." "Did he get in a fight?" "No! Would you let me tell you the story." "Okay. I'm sorry." He says. I laugh. "His teacher think he's dyslexic." "What?" He asks. I nod. Then Corey comes downstairs. "Can you check these?" He asks handing me his paper. I look at it, look at him, then show it to Colton. Colton runs the back of his head. "Come here." Colton says. He sits Corey on his lap. I giggle considering he's gonna be eight in March and he still sits on our laps. They start talking about how Corey needs to tell us if he's having problems with something no matter what we're going through. I agree listening the entire time. "Okay. I'm sorry." Corey says. "It's okay. Go back upstairs and I'll be up to help you." Colton says. He goes upstairs and Colton pulls me onto his lap. "I feel bad for him." I say. "I know. He'll be fine though. He's just gonna need a little help." I nod. The next day after school I take him to the doctors. They are pretty sure he's dyslexic. They explain to him what that means and what he's gonna have to do in order to help it. We head home and he's quiet the entire time. We go inside. "Corey..." I say. He doesn't answer. "Corey." I say sternly. He turns around and looks at me. "I know your upset but you don't give me an attitude." I say. "It's not fair. Everyone's gonna pick on me now." He says crossing his arms. "Corey nobody is gonna pick on you. It's not your fault." I say bending down to his height. "Why do I have to be dylictic or whatever it is." He says not being able to say it. I giggle a little at how he pronounced it. I look down at my tattoos and realized I never talked about my struggles to my kids. Maybe this is the time to tell Corey. To show him that he's not alone and that everyone has their own struggles.
