The beginning

Imperfections are perfection

Spencer's POV:

I sat at the island trying to teach Hanna how to string a bean, we'll at least break it in half.
Aria was on the other side trying to scoop pumpkin seeds for pumpkin pie. If she got one seed on her she'd scream so loud you could probably hear 50 miles away.
Toby was with my mom in a deep conversation about himself and his carpentry job.
"I don't even see the point in this can't you just go to the store buy some that are all ready made, pop'em in the microwave and say you made them homemade?" Hanna asked. "Is that why I got food positioning on Thanksgiving?" Aria asked getting pink in the face, "Hanna your supposed to boil them not microwave them!" "Oops." Hanna let out a small giggle. "Oh how long are you suppose to cook a turkey?"
Aria face got as red as a tomato, before she snapped she walked out of the room and screamed into a pillow.
She came back and said "Hanna you now owe me a DVD rental." "Okay, I'm happy to, just don't try to lunge at me." "You maybe tiny but your big." Hanna said to trying to get Aria back to herself. Aria stood tall and we all laughed.
My mom then walked over so she could pull the ham out of the oven. "Aria sweetie do you need help?" "Actually yes these pumpkin seeds are grossing me out." Aria said with a disgusted look. "Ok hun I'll finish this, how about you help Spencer and Hanna finish up the last of the string beans." "Okay Mrs. Hastings."
"Hey Spence, Hanna and I got this you should go hang out with Toby he looks bored out of his mind." Aria said while pushing me towards the couch. "Yea Spence we so have this." Hanna said trying to untangle the strings from underneath her perfectly manicured nails.

"Hey Tobes." I try to say in the best way possible because I feel bad that I left him out for the past hour or so. "Hey." He replied softly. "How was the conversation with my mom?" "Spencer I think I should go you the girls and your mom should have fun together before Melissa and Wren get here." He said while walking towards the door. "Wait," "What?" "Come upstairs so we can talk." "Okay."
He slowly followed me up the stairs to my bedroom.

Toby's POV:

Once we entered her room I knew I needed to be honest with her. Spencer's mom told me to be careful around Spencer's dad and not to cross him because he doesn't take imperfections well. She liked me for who I was and was glad that I was in Spencer's life, but she sound scared when she brought Spencer's father up. So apparently from the other half of Spencer's family refers to me as an imperfection which hurts just thinking about it. Once I told Spencer she said that my option of insisting to leave was a good idea, but staying to prove that I was perfect was the right thing to do. But in my mind I'm not perfect. I'm just a screwed up kid with a screwed up family. I think my friends are the only ones who actually care about me.
"Toby you are the kindest, and most honest person I know." I still was staring at my shoes knowing what she said had to be untrue.
She wrapped her arms around my neck and ran her finger through my hair.
I looked up into her coffee brown eyes thinking to myself if that day in Literature had never happened how bad would my life be right now.

Spencer's POV:

I was tired of Toby being so hard on himself in my eyes he is everything I want and more why can't he understand that.
I walked over to my bed and sat down and motioned for him to sit next to me.
Once he sat down I sat on my knees and turn to face him.
"Toby," "Spencer don't even try I will never meet your standards." "Oh my god Toby Cavanaugh you are such an idiot." "What, what did I do?" I tried my best not to laugh but I couldn't help it. "Toby just shut up and kiss me...." The moment our lips touched butterflies flew in my stomach and electricity ran through out my body. Our lips move perfectly in sync I did not want this moment to end.
"Ewwww growdy " Hanna said from the hallway. "Yea guys to much PDA" Aria said standing next to Hanna. Toby started to blush which only made him more adorable. "What did you guys need so much you had to ruin this?" "Hold on let me swallow the throw up rising in my throat!" Oh god sarcastic Hanna has arrived. "Oh come on like you and Caleb haven't done stuff like this, and Aria you and Ezra!" They both turned red as my mom came to my room and said "Spencer come down stairs." She sounded really worried. "Mom what's going on?" She, Aria, and Hanna all said "Melissa and Wren are here." I knew they were coming, but I still looked at Toby hoping he would protect me from what will turn into a living hell in the next 5 minutes.
