Happy Valentine's Day nerds

"Valentines Day absolutely sucks. Literally, worst holiday ever. What's the point? To just like, sell chocolate?"

"I agree, Jared, but it's still a nice holiday!" Alana protested, trying to settle the debate.

"Nope. It sucks. More than Connor on a daily."
Connor gave him the middle finger, but smirked at Jared's joke.

"What are you, uh, you guys talking about?" Evan asked, placing down his backpack.

"How much Valentine's Day sucks."

"It doesn't suck! It's wonderful!" Zoe earned an eye roll for her comment, but she just flipped Jared off.

"Oh." Evan mumbled, glancing at the ground as his face flushed. "I uh, didn't know you, uh, hated Valentine's Day so um, so much."

"Uh, Yeah. It's a stupid holiday. Like 'wow, I didn't like you the whole year but now I do so here's a hundred dollars waisted on you love you boo'." Jared rolled his eyes, his words making Evans face flush more.

"Evan, how do you feel about Valentine's Day?" Zoe asked, hopeful for someone on her side.

"I uh, I actually really like it?" His words sounded like a question, so he tried again. "I like it. My uh, my mom and I, we always get each other chocolate and watch some stupid, cheesy rom-com, and just make fun of it, but uh, she's working this year, so we aren't, we aren't doing it. So I'll probably just uh, force Jared to come to, come to my house."

Jared instantly regretted being so hateful to one of his boyfriend's favorite holidays.

"Oh." Was all he could muster out, before quickly changing the topic. "So, uh what the actual fuck is Mrs.Berken on? Bc like, she gave me a ten for an assignment I got a hundred on, and I..." Jared rambled on, hoping to distract the others so he could somewhat think.

Well I fucked up I guess. Guess I'll have to spend a crap ton of money on that beautiful loser.

Oh whatever Jared, you'd do anything for him.

Valentine's Day wasn't eventful for Evan. He'd made cookies for everyone, along with little 'love notes' for his friends. Jared didn't go all out (as expected) and just got him a box of chocolate.

Evan took it gratefully, thankful to have something.

He gave Jared a kiss, and thought that would be the end of it.

He didn't know there was more until Jared barged into his house with boxes full of chocolate, popcorn, and cheesy rom-coms.

"What's, what's this for?"

"You, duh." Jared started setting up the tv, leaning Evan bewildered in the living room.

"Bu-you, you hate Valentine's Day?"

"But you love it. So come cuddle with me while we watch cheesy movies and eat a crap ton of sweets."

Evan smile so wide his face hurt.

Keep this one. Evan thought to himself. This one is the one.
