"We're heading home Em." Emily's mom and dad said with smiles across their faces. She was confused, she thought they were split up.
"Mom, dad. I thought you divorced?" She asked.
"We're gonna make this work, for you. Mommy and daddy love you, and we love each other very much." Emily smiles ear to ear, knowing things will be better.
As they loaded up the car with all the flowers and gifts Emily received, they headed home. "We have one surprise for you."
Surprise?
As the car went up the drive way, another car was also parked there. She wondered why. Holding Emily's hand, her mom smiled. "Sit on the couch, hold out your arms and close your eyes."
Emily did as she was told.
Without a second to waste, her mom came out with a surprise Emily would never forget. "Be gentle." She laid the object in Emily's arms. It was soft and warm, touching Emily's arm as she stroked it. "Open your eyes." She gasped.
"Meet your little sister, Anna."
