It's really hard to give up on life
When every now and then
There's a fire that burns in you bright.
You try and act as if nothing matters,
But a thought in you lights up banners.
It forges a will that makes indifference shatter.
And you're left feeling again
With all the emotions in quagmire.
You can try to steel your mind
Or push away the wants and desires
And just accept the waves of life,
But every now and then
A fire that burns bright in you will rise,
And you will be none the wiser.
