Your Sad Eyes

I'm tired of looking into your sad eyes,
Glazed over and staring without focus.
Filled with memories and regrets gone by,
They see everywhere the swarms of locusts
And choose to ignore the bright sunny day
In favor of grey gloom and cloudy haze.

I'm tired of looking into your sad eyes
That look back at me with the tears held back.
They beckon and call and yearn for something
Without a mouth to voice their longing cries.
They are witness to life's bitter attack
Always clinging to hope for anything.

I'm tired of looking into your sad eyes
Looking back at me every morning.
The dew drops on the blades of grass outside
Mirror the moistened irises inside.
The eyes look back at me every evening,
Puddles reflecting the obscured night sky.

I'm tired of looking into your sad eyes
Shedding happiness with their bold, tired lies.
I'm tired of seeing the tears ride your face
Keeping up with the world in lacquered pace.
I'm tired of hearing your whimpering and yelps
With the feeling that nothing ever helps.

Those deep and dark eyes of fierce hazel hue
Cast gazes upon me like a poor prize.
Those intelligent orbs of fading light
Give me sight of silver without a fight.
I'm tired of looking into your sad eyes,
And so I have chosen to murder you...
