You would think -
the people who scream
at the top of their lungs,
the ones who lash out,
those who raise their fists
and chase down demons -
They are to be fear's reason,
But you would be wrong.
It is the ones
who hear the insults,
who hear discrimination,
who remain silent
nevertheless -
It is the ones
who have only roared once,
who have held back hatred,
who have slowly become
jaded
That you should fear
Because they have built up
Their anger into raging blur
That's ready to release
all its wild force on
friend, foe, or stranger
without remainder
At any given time.
