It might be necessary to survive,
but what kind of survival applies?
A life lived in that manner
can't possibly be worth the trial
to cross the line and survive.
So why do we tell ourselves
all will be alright if only we survive.
Isn't it time to stop and think
of what simply surviving implies?
How about we breath deep inside
and consider not that we survive
but how we go on with our lives.
