1 What inspired the idea of your story?

Aarius Grail was 'born' during the COVID-19 lockdowns. The inspiration behind this story happened to be the vivid graphics in video games. I am a hopeless fan of animation of all kinds and the beautiful graphics in video games transfix me!

I wrote the prologue and first chapter during that time to describe my fantasy world. Then I spent the rest of time designing the characters, the details of the world inhabitants, and downloaded a map making app to design a map and called it The Marvelous Kingdoms. Then I went back to work, and the story roasted on the back burner until I joined Wattpad and saw the ONC23 awards and I went to work writing A.G for that!

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

Originally I had no idea what the overall theme of the story would be. Alot of my stories start out that way and eventually unfold as I write but AG was a little harder. It was after researching the prompts for ONC23 that I was inspired because I found the perfect theme and ran with it.

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?

The vivid detail of the surroundings. And dialog too! I love the conversations!

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

I have been amazed at the response from the readers. Generally, the person who reads this will be a real fan of fantasy because AG is a slow burning story, Aarius Grail himself isn't introduced until chapter 3 and the whole chapter is dedicated to introducing him. The comments I have received have all been positive excitement. A fantasy novel is not like other books in that if you rush it, it won't be as believable. You can see that in books like Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit where the book is more like epic adventure.

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

AG is at present a stand alone novel which will have a part one and part two within one book.

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?

That heroes don't always save the day in typical fashion. Sometimes, you will be shocked to see how it plays out!

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?

Don't rush things! Let your imagination flow free style and listen to your characters sometimes because they have a story to tell!

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?

Only one. AG breaks free of his captivity. Which is the similarity I share with him. Maybe someday, I'll tell what that means.

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

If I were a new reader considering Aarius Grail | The Last StoneCipher, that something would be the mystery surrounding Horegs bones and what those bones will eventually reveal.

10 do you have any future projects?

Absolutely! I have other ongoing works listed and a literal library of works to come! (UFOs, talking cats, and a short story currently) and I will soon be introducing plagues, vikings and of course everyone's favorite, a romance series!
