1 what inspired the idea of your story?

I was looking for a dark, spooky story that was very witchy but also had elements of fantasy, not just occult and horror. I couldn't find any, so decided to write my own!

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

Developing Imani as a character. She's an anti-hero, but I want readers to love and root for her redemption

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?

The dialogue between Kiran and Imani is absolutely my favorite part

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

Readers have been shocked by the twists and turns and call it a "lushly gothic fantasy" with the prose and style of writing.

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

Part of a series

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?

How complex villains can be and that we all hold some form of good and bad in ourselves.

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?

Books aren't written - they're edited

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?

I are both the oldest siblings, and I think that comes with a lot of similarities - we're both caretakers, we take charge, and we are fearless.

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

You won't guess the twists and turns no matter how hard you try.

10 do you have any future projects?

Yes! I'm working on a dark science-fiction fantasy - Dream in the Ash.
