1 what inspired the idea of your story?

All Our Dark Tomorrows was inspired by true happenings in a part of my country where women—vulnerable women, widows, women who stand against the odd—are subjected to all kinds of injustice under the guise of witchcraft accusations. I had initially found my love and interest in the topic early last year and when I had the chance to work on it this year, I figured I take the shot. Then I found an ONC'21 prompt that was in line with the idea. I felt the heavens were speaking to me!

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

I would say enough data. The plan was to have a trip to the said places in the book and have an on-ground feeling of it to write the book but I couldn't afford it. So instead, I stayed home, did researches and read from a lot of places to be able to immense myself in the 'world' of the witchcraft accusations and its injustice. This hasn't been easy.

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?

I think this would be the various point of views and the historical aspect of the book. In this book, I tell the story from multiple points of view, from different women in different timelines and generations and this has been fun.

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

It has been good so far. And I recently won Round 2 of the ONC Africa

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

For now, it is a stand-alone.

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?

That we need to come together as a people and fight injustice.

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?

I would advice fellow writers to keep on writing. That is the first goal. No matter what, they should keep writing and improving themselves with each new project they venture into. And as far as growth is concerned, they should keep reading! Reading is essential! It is paramount to the growth of a writer

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?

I wouldn't say so. The only thing I'm sure my main character has would be the fact that she has a voice. A voice to make her intentions known and to speak against things she deem wrong

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

The perspective it carries. This is an issue that not many are aware of but is in existence. That singular thing is powerful enough to reel people in.

10 do you have any future projects?

Yes! I have a number of them. You all should follow me to find out more
