1 what inspired the idea of your story?

The idea behind my story actually came from a conversation I had with someone a long time ago about secret societies. The conversation was thought-provoking, and I began to wonder what secret societies might look like in the future. If something dramatic happened and we were living in a post-apocalyptic world, world they still exist? Why would they exist? What would be their agenda?

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

Honestly, the hardest part for me has been the editing portion. I wrote AFTERMATH a little over 5 years ago, but I never bothered to try and publish it or share it with the world until now because I never felt it was ready. I've taken my time and gone through the story with a fine-tooth comb at least a dozen times. I know it's still not perfect, but it's time for me to stop obsessing about it and let it be seen and shared.

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?

I enjoyed writing the MC's backstory the most. Writing about her past and her traumas and slowly feeding them into the present so that the reader comes to know and understand her better over time was quite enjoyable.

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

So far the response has been very positive and encouraging.

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

AFTERMATH is the first book in the AtlantiCorp Chronicles series. However, it was written and constructed in such a way that it can act as a stand alone novel, giving the reader the choice to continue with the series or not.

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?

Life is an adventure. Embrace it. Enjoy it. And pick your travel companions wisely.

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?

Never give up. Our stories aren't going to be perfect on the first draft, or the second, or the third. Just keep working at it. You'll experience plenty of ups and downs along your writing journey. Roll with them. Take them as they come, and keep chasing that dream.

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?

Yes. In order to truly connect with the character as I was trying to write and develop her, I sprinkled a little bit of myself into her personality and appearance.

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

I believe the fact that it's a gritty story with relatable characters who are dealing with current and past traumas will connect with a lot of readers. It's a story that is meant to challenge perceptions and invite questions. The MC is on a journey of self-discovery and healing, and I think many readers will connect with that and look forward to following her on her journey.

10 do you have any future projects?

Yes. Books 2 & 3 of the AtlantiCorp Chronicles are in development. I also have plans to create a high fantasy trilogy as well.
