The bass is pounding in my body, and I sip bored on my drink. It is something which tastes sweet, but I know that Callum has prepared it with a lot of alcohol. I am not a party person but sometimes I like to get drunk with some of my friends and dance till my feet hurt in my shoes.

Not many people here look familiar to me, but I know enough to not feel alone or left out. I know that Callum and Marcus are somewhere here, but I lost them both just a few minutes ago and now wait for at least one of them to return.

Not many minutes pass until Callum is suddenly beside me again and wraps one of his arms around my shoulder. I can smell the alcohol, but he seems to be quite sober. His voice is not blurry, and he still can stand straight without swinging from side to side.

"Where did you left your better half?" I ask him mockingly indicating Marcus as the better side of their friendship. Callum pretends not to hear me and just sings the song which is currently played over the loud music boxes.

"Let's play a round of truth or dare." He suddenly blurts out and lead me to a place where already a few people are gathered. It seems to be that he had forgotten that he just wants to get me to play and now he remembers again.

"How old are we again?" I ask with a giggle while Callum continues to drag me to the others. The first person who catches my gaze is Marcus who is sitting on the floor and piddles on the sticker of his beer bottle.

"Twelve!" Callum exclaims a little delayed and let his body sink onto the ground to sit in the circle with the other. I sit down between Marcus and Callum and let my gaze wander around to see who is playing with us. There are a few familiar faces but also some strangers which could be an interesting touch to the game.

"Let's star. Marcus, truth or dare?" Callum bleats and points at his best friend who is sipping some beer before he answers. Marcus does not look like he wants to be here and play this game, but he follows the wish of his roommate.

"Starting simple with truth." Marcus answers and grins cheekily into the round. My heartbeat fasten a bit of the sight and I try to calm myself down again. This is not the right timing to let my crush on the Kiwi be revealed. There never will be the right time for this.

"Is your crush on this party." Callum has a devilish grin on his lips, knowing exactly what he is doing. My heartbeat stops for a second. Crush? Is Marcus in love with someone and Callum tries to convince him to speak it out loud? Or is this just some banter between these two?

"I hate you." Marcus almost hisses at Callum who is not bothered by this and just continues to grin widely. The others also look very interested in Marcus answer because it would be something they could mock him about.

I do not know what I want to hear. If I even want to hear the answer in general. A crush would minimize my chances of getting with him. But there is not even a chance because I will never tell him my true feelings and ruin our friendship. Loosing him is not an option.

"I can not hear you." Callum chirps and avoid Marcus who wants to slap him. I force I giggle on my lips because I still sit between them and normally, I would find this very funny but in this particular moment the knot of fear in my stomach is getting tighter and tighter.

"Yes..." Marcus finally admits trough gritted teeth and immediately shoots a question to the next person to distract from his answer. My hearts break a little because of his answer and I steal Callum's drink to take a deep sip out of it.
