Lightning *Fred Weasley love*

Year 6 Part 16

I walked from the kitchen where everyone was talking about order business and made my way to the bare tree

I looked around the box of decorations, and began picking out the ones I wanted to place on the tree
Fred came over and joined me, picking up a snowman with his name on it

"Imagine, years from now and we are doing this at our own home with children of our own" he put his hand on my face

We both wanted kids, after I finished school and had a couple of years to play quidditch of course
We hadnt talked about names, but he liked the idea of not planning them
He thinks the best ideas come in the moment

I leaned into his chest, and stared at the star that was placed on top of the tree
It was charmed to shine brightly and send sparks out every now and then
"Fred I decided on who I'm playing for when I get out of school"

I felt him smile
"Who's lucky enough to get you on their team?"

I looked him in the eyes
"I decided on Bulgaria"

He kissed my forehead
"I'm so happy for you Love"

I smiled
"Is that ok?"

He looked at my confused
"Why wouldn't it be?"

"It's far away"

"Good thing we're wizards and can use magic to teleport to each other" he kissed my lips softly "you'll only be away during the spring for training, and the summer you'll have a game weekly so it's easy to work around"

"I haven't told anyone else yet, I wanted to be sure you were ok with my choice"

"You could have picked any, and I would have said the same thing. It's your career, I want you to be happy"

"Speaking of careers..." I said pulling a letter out of my jacket pocket "Happy Christmas"

I passed him the letter and he opened it slowly
He read it, and his mouth dropped open

"Electra...? You bought that building for our shop??"

I smiled
"You wanted it, so I thought it would make a great gift"

He picked me up and swung me around, gaining the attention of everyone in the other room

"I finally bested you in gifts" I said when he set me back down

"I wouldn't be so sure" he said passing me a letter

I opened it, and this time it was my turn to be shocked

"You...you..." I wiped tears from my face that fell while I was reading it "you...bought us a—?"

If I could capture any of his smiles, the one he was giving me right now would be it

"I bought us land, and construction workers to build our dream house"

I was a crying mess
"We can build whatever we want, and big enough for our future family"

"Is this why you couldn't afford the building in Hogsmeade ?" I asked between sobs

He nodded
"Did you spend all your money on that building? I know how much it was"

I smiled
"That's why I told you about my decision for who I'm playing for, I spent everything the teams gave me. But once I send in my letter of confirmation, they're giving me a huge welcome check. Viktor Krum told me that in a letter he wrote to me"

"I can't wait to open shop there" he said looking at the paper

"And I can't wait to begin building our house, where is the land?"

"At first I couldn't decided where to buy it. I know how much you love the center of London, but you grew up on the outskirts of it" he took my hands "and then I thought about how we would need a quidditch field for us and our kids in the future, so I knew being in town was a bad idea"

He looked out the window
"You remember that lake we used to walk to when we were growing up?"

I nodded
"That's our new home"

I told everyone the good news on which team I was playing for and about our future house we would be building
My dad hugged me tightly and told me he was so proud of the choice I made
He liked Bulgaria the most out of all the teams and couldn't wait to support me during the games
Fred showed George the paper for their new shop, and George picked me up and squeezed me really hard
"I'll keep the shop and loft in Diagon Alley and Fred you can keep the shop in Hogsmeade" he said after they figured out the business plan

For dinner Mrs.Weasley made us all of our favorites
We made it a rule that no one was allowed to talk about work or the order when we were eating
So we shared stories instead
My dad told Harry about a time when James and him pranked a defense teacher so much he quit halfway through the school year
Lupin said he was so embarrassed to be near them that year
My dad told him he was lucky to have them, they brought life into his dull studying hours

Hours went by, and before we knew it the clock struck 1 am
Lupin and Tonks were the first ones to leave the burrow

"It's close to the full moon, and Lupin feels more comfortable at our home during that time" Tonks explained while they were exiting the door
Mrs.Weasley told everyone we could stay here for the night but the two of them insisted on going home

But then everything got quiet
The wind that was pushing through the open window in the kitchen was stilled
The frogs from the pond outside quieted down
And the moon that was lighting up the ground, disappeared

Lupin was outside with Tonks, he was as still as still could get and she looked on edge
He sensed something, she was reacting to his energy

"Remus?" Mr.Weasley said going up to Mrs.Weasley who was standing near the couple now

"Sweetheart?" Tonks said

My dad joined us in the doorway, I was standing near it as well, I was about to say my goodbyes before everything went quiet

I looked passed Lupin and Tonks and saw the cornfield outside sway
But there was no wind

Fred was in the living room with George and Ron
Harry was sitting next to Ginny in the living room, but he instinctively sat up when things got silent

"Electra" Fred said worried after he realized I wasn't near him "move away from the door please Love"

I could feel his panic through my bracelet
But I didn't move

I looked at my dad, and then at Lupin who wouldn't take his eyes off the cornfield I was looking at previously

I took a deep breath in
Everything is fine
Everything is fine
Everything is—

Laughter started to fill the silent air outside
I knew that laugh

I pushed past Lupin and walked onto the grass with my wand facing towards the field

I heard Fred call my name, but I was focused on the spot that kept swaying

Then a loud sound came from above the burrow
And with it came a shot of fire that circled the surrounding area
Dark figures started to fly around the house but I was watching that spot in the field still
I heard footsteps behind me
And Lupin came beside me with my dad

The three of us stared at the spot but by now it stopped swaying

The dark figures landed in the field somewhere, and from that spot that I was staring at came Bellatrix with her wand pointing straight at us
