It was finally time to go home for the holiday, I had all my things packed last night before I headed off to Fred's room to sleep, so this morning all I had to do was enchant my things to go to the train and grab Celeste from the tower
I woke up early enough to go for a run, which Fred insisted he joined ever since I made fun of him for breathing heavily when we ran from Umbridge. He also prefers me to not run alone, but this year if he hasn't joined me it's been Ginny who's gotten up early to run with me
"You ready to go?" I asked after stretching
"I'm going to best you I hope you realize this, it's taken me some time to get used to your pace but I bet today I'll be faster" he said winking at me
"Yeah ok" I said smiling
We ran through our usual 10 miles at a 6 minute pace, though the last mile I had to cheat and run as Vulpes, he was actually able to run faster than me during most of our run
"You cheater" he said when he finally caught up to me at the finish
"Foxes are known for being sly, and fast" I said laughing
He came over to me and rubbed his sweaty forehead all over my face
"Fred you're gross!!" I said pushing him back
"That's what you get cheater" he said holding my face in his hands
He kissed me, and then lead me to the castle
We had to be sneaky with our runs, with Umbridge being the headmaster she has been awful with curfews. Lucky for us we know plenty of secret passages that can lead us to whenever we want, and usually I would visit Hagrid but he's been on thin ice since his last visit from Umbridge. She's been doing checkins with the Professors, and firing any who aren't up to her standards for ministry teaching
"I hate Umbridge" I said as we entered a secret tunnel
"Random, but I do too" he said
"She's just messing everything up"
"Not everything, we have each other and Quidditch" he smiled at me
"True, I wish we still had our D.A meetings though"
"Me too, but let's focus on keeping you safe and winning games...speaking of are you going to tell your dad?"
I stayed quiet for a few moments
"Yeah..I want to talk to him about what happened. He's going to lose it that I didn't tell him right away, it's even worse now with Dumbledore gone. I can't get any new answers about why my mum acted that way"
Fred squeezed my hand
"Let's go shower and get some breakfast"
"Together right?" I winked at him
"Obviously" he tapped my nose
After our shower, and breakfast we headed for the train where our friend groups were already waiting
Fred kissed me, and dropped me off with Ron Hermione and Harry. He went to go sit with George and Lee
"I'm so glad to be going home" Ron said sinking into his seat more
"I don't want to come back since all that's waiting for me is punishments" Harry said
"I'm sorry you were the only one who got caught Harry...if you want I'll get in trouble and we can serve them together?" I suggested
