Your good friend Hongjoong had invited you to a big Halloween party at his house, one that he's been planning for months. He's invited all the friends he knows and claims it'll be the best Halloween party ever. He highly encouraged everyone to wear costumes, which you're all for. Honestly, you probably wouldn't have gone if you couldn't dress up. Halloween is one of your favorite holidays, so there's no way you'd pass up the opportunity to attend this party.

You checked your costume and makeup in the mirror once more, briefly examining your reflection before heading out. Your costume of choice was a vampire. Some might see it as cliche and overused, but you see it as a classic. You really can't go wrong with it. You've always had an interest in the undead supernatural beings, of course, you know they're just fictional, but you've always liked them.
After feeling satisfied with your appearance, you grabbed your things and headed out.

Upon your arrival to Hongjoong's place, you step out of your car, the music is so loud you can hear the bass booming even from outside his house. You approached the door, giving a couple rings of the doorbell doubtful that anyone will hear it. To your surprise, the door immediately swings open revealing Hongjoong dressed up as a zombie.
"Y/n, you made it. Come in, the party is going great." He greeted enthusiastically as he pulled you inside, maneuvering through the crowd of people. "You're here just in time. There's someone I want you to meet. He's one of my close friends, you'll love him."
He took you over to the corner of the living room where his two friends Yeosang and Jongho stood; however, there was a third guy that you didn't recognize. He had blonde hair that was styled in a swept back side part, showing off his striking features: round yet sultry eyes, a sharp nose, full, plush lips, and a jawline so sharp it almost hurt to look at it. You were so awestruck by his visuals you weren't sure if he was real or not.

"Wooyoung!" Hongjoong called, snapping you from your trance.
The really handsome mystery guy turned towards the both of you. You were quick to notice he was also dressed like a vampire sporting red contacts and a pair of false fangs.
Wow. He's gorgeous. You thought to yourself.
"This is my friend, Y/n." Hongjoong grinned gesturing to you.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Wooyoung." The man smiled, extending his hand.
Your heart leapt nervously in your chest as you reached out to briefly shake his hand.
"Nice costume." He smirked.
"Thanks." You chuckled shyly. "You too."
"I'm gonna leave you guys to it and let you get to know each other." Hongjoong cut in.
"Wait. Where are you going?" You asked as your heart began racing.
Please don't leave me alone with this handsome man. You begged internally.
You weren't sure you couldn't handle it.
"I'm the host of this party. I have hosting to do." He answered simply.
"No wait."
"Have fun." He waved, a devilish grin on his face.

You sighed defeatedly and turned back towards the small group. At least Jongho and Yeosang were still there. You'd feel comfortable having at least one familiar face around.

"I think I'm gonna go see what games they're playing." Yeosang spoke up. "I think someone brought their Nintendo Switch."
"Yeah I wanna see if they're doing arm wrestling." Jongho grinned, flexing his arm. "I hear that Changbin guy is here. I'd like to challenge him to a round."
"Ha! Fat chance." Wooyoung jested. "You don't stand a chance."
"We'll see about that." Jongho glared at him.
Before you could protest, the two of them walked off into the crowd, ultimately leaving you alone.
Traitors.
Hesitantly, you turned towards Wooyoung, your mind going through topics to talk about as a silence settled over the space between you.
"You want something to drink?" He asked, saving you from potential embarrassment.
"Why not." You shrug.
You maneuvered through the crowd, following him into the slightly less packed kitchen. He grabbed a black party cup with orange pumpkins all over it and poured you some punch.
"Here you are." He handed the cup over.
"Thanks."
"Let's have a toast." He spoke as he held up his own drink.
"Toast to what?"
Wooyoung paused for a moment before his eyes lit up.
"Spooky season." He grinned.
"Now that's something I can toast to. To spooky season." You chuckled, tapping your cup against his before taking a sip.
"Look at that, we're like real vampires." He joked referring to the red punch in your Halloween-themed cups.
"Yeah we are. By the way, your costume is amazing. It's so good."
"Thanks." He giggled cutely, a light blush on his cheeks from your compliment.
"Your contacts look awesome, so do your fangs. I wanted to find some that looked realistic so I bought the best fangs and red contacts I could find, but yours look so much better." You bragged.
His cheeks tinted a deeper pink.
"Thank you, but I think your costume is cool too. Out of all the people here dressed as vampires, you're the cutest."
It was your turn to blush now.
"Oh." You were flustered by his compliment, an intense heat spreading across your cheeks like fire. "Thank you."

A tiny smirk made its way onto his face as his gaze drifted to your neck for a moment before he quickly looked back up, making eye contact with you once again. It was getting you flustered so you decided to start a conversation.
"So you know Hongjoong, Yeosang and Jongho?"
"Mhm." He hummed.
"Do you know Mingi, San, Seonghwa and Yunho?"
"I do." He grinned cutely. "They're all my closest friends."
"How have we not met before?"
"I don't really get out much." He answered with a light shrug. "I'm kind of a homebody."
"Me too."

You and Wooyoung continued hanging out throughout the night talking about anything and everything, from sharing funny stories about the boys to chatting about hobbies and interests. At some point, you both stopped talking and started dancing after he had suggested it. The party had been going for a couple hours and no one seemed to be getting tired, including you.
An upbeat song was booming through the speakers set up in Hongjoong's living room as you and Wooyoung danced together. His hands found their way to your waist as the both of you swayed to the beat, his body so close to yours it had your heart racing. You weren't the type to dance this way with someone you just met, you most certainly wouldn't let them put their hands on you, but knowing Wooyoung was friends with Hongjoong and the others made you feel more comfortable.
His hypnotizing crimson eyes held your gaze confidently, a smirk tugging at his full lips as he discreetly tugged you closer. You allowed him to do so, draping your arms over his shoulders in response. His sultry gaze and consistent eye contact had you feeling weak in the knees.

Once the song ended, the both of you moved away from the mass of dancing bodies to the edge of the room to rest for a moment.

"That was fun." You chuckled breathlessly.
"It was." He grinned, biting his lip.
You fanned yourself with your hand as you tried to catch your breath, winded from all the dancing.
"You wanna sit down for a minute?" Wooyoung offered.
You nodded, allowing him to lead you to an empty couch in the far corner of the room.
"You alright?" He asked brushing your hair away from your face, the action making your face warmer than it already was.
"Yeah." You breathed. "I just haven't danced for that long in a while."
He watched you with concerned eyes as you steadied your breathing, resting your head against the back of the couch.
"Wooyoung, I'm alright." You gave him a reassuring smile, seeing the evident distress on his face.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." You chuckled.
"Sorry." He grinned shyly.
You couldn't help but smile, finding it cute how he was so worried about you even though you'd just met a few hours ago.
"Y/n?" Wooyoung spoke up.
"Mhm?"
"Do you think I could have your number?" He asked, a light blush on his cheeks.
"Yes, of course."
"Ah. Thank you." He grinned cutely.
He went to reach in his pocket, his face changing, the excited expression on his features dropping slightly.
"Oh. I must've left my phone in the car. Is it okay if I go get it real quick? It should only take a couple minutes."
"Sure. I can wait here."
"Okay. I'll be right back." He got up off the couch, disappearing into the group of partygoers.

You leaned back into the plush sofa cushions, observing the crowd and taking a moment to look at everyone's costumes. Some people had simply thrown on a cat headband and drawn some whiskers on their face while others had elaborate costumes that looked completely accurate to the character they were portraying. You silently commended them for the dedication as you continued checking out more costumes.

"Excuse me." Someone spoke up, catching your attention.
Glancing over in the general vicinity of the voice, you spotted a rather good-looking guy approaching you. He had fluffy, dark hair that hung over his catlike eyes. His makeup was dark as well; black eyeliner and dark smoky shadow framed his sharp eyes, a deep red tint on his plush lips. Based on his appearance, it seemed he was also dressed as a vampire.
Must be a popular costume. You thought.
Standing up, you asked the man what it was he needed.
"Sorry." He grinned bashfully, showing off a set of fangs. "I saw you sitting over here and I couldn't help but come over. You're very pretty."
"Oh." You were caught off guard by the sudden compliment from this handsome stranger whose voice was airy and a bit higher than what you would have assumed. "Thank you."
"Of course." He flashed a charming smirk, his eyes becoming darker as a different emotion swirled behind them. "I'm Seoho."

(A picture for your viewing pleasure)
(Stan ONEUS)

"I'm Y/n."
"Are you here alone, Y/n?" He inquired sweetly, tilting his head.
"Actually I'm with a friend. He went to get his phone. He should be back any second."
"It's so stuffy in here." He commented, tugging at his shirt collar. "Do you want to step outside for a moment? I'm sure your friend won't mind if I steal you for a bit."
"I'm fine. I should probably stay here anyway." You politely declined his offer as you started to get weird vibes from him. His approach was warm and friendly, but now he was beginning to make you uncomfortable.
This guy is starting to give me the creeps.
"C'mon, little flower. Just for a second?" He asked, trying to persuade you with sweet pet names.
You could have sworn you saw his eyes glow for a second.
"I-" Your sentence was cut off when you heard someone speak from behind you.
"Y/n?"
Spinning around, you came face-to-face with Wooyoung, his phone in his hand and a surprised expression on his features. A wave of relief washed over you, but before you could respond, he spoke up, his eyes shifting to look at the man standing by you as his expression changed immediately.
"Gunmin." He spat bitterly.
"It's Seoho now." The male corrected.
You see Wooyoung and Seoho exchange intense stares, feeling the palpable, unsettling energy in the air between them.
Do they know each other?

"Y/n, come here." Wooyoung spoke sternly.
You immediately stepped towards him, his hand reaching out to grab your arm, pulling you protectively into his side.
You hadn't known Wooyoung for very long, but you felt much safer with him than this creep standing before you.
"Aw. That's cute." Seoho remarked almost sarcastically, his sweet act dropping immediately. "You're protecting her."
"Leave her alone." Wooyoung sternly demanded. "Go find someone else."

You had a terrible feeling in your gut that there was something deeper going on here, something you didn't know about.

"Why'd you have to come and ruin everything? I was having so much fun with her." Seoho complained with a pout.
"Go find someone else." Wooyoung repeated.
"But I like her."
"She's mine." He spoke in a rumbling and threatening voice that sent shivers down your spine. His grip tightened around your waist as he let out an animalistic snarl.
"I've already caught her scent. I won't back down until she's mine."
Caught your scent? Did you hear that correctly?
"You lay a hand on her and I'll kill you—that's a promise." Wooyoung threatened.
Seoho let out a dark chuckle.
"Should we take this outside, then?"
Wooyoung didn't answer, but Seoho seemed to understand. "Let's go, then." He motioned outside.
"Stay here." Wooyoung whispered.
"What? No I'm coming with you."
"Y/n, you'll be much safer in here."
"What if you get hurt?"
"I won't."
"Wooyoung—"
"You don't know what you're getting yourself into."
"Let the girl come." Seoho spoke up. "It'll be more fun."
You could see the irritation clear on Wooyoung's face.
"Stay close." He ordered lowly as the three of you made your way through the dense crowd.

Outside, there were people standing around chatting amongst themselves, too engrossed in their conversations to notice anyone walking by. Seoho continued moving away from the house to a more secluded area of the yard, the section dimly lit and free of any partygoers.
You could feel your heart racing, pounding against your rib cage as Seoho popped his neck, loosening his shoulders.
"Alright Wooyoung, how do you wanna do this?"
"I'd rather not." He answered.
"It's far too late for that."
"Y/n." Wooyoung spoke in a warning voice. "Step back."
You did as he asked and stepped away from him, your mind racing as you watched the two worriedly, terrified of what you were about to witness.
"I've been waiting to do this for a long time." Seoho lunged at Wooyoung, moving so fast you almost didn't see it happen.
That's not possible. You thought to yourself.
"Stop this." Wooyoung hissed, trying to push Seoho off of him. "I don't want to fight."
"You shouldn't have left your precious human alone."
What person refers to another person as a human?
The gears in your head start to turn, puzzle pieces starting to fall into place. You shook your head in denial, unwilling to accept the conclusion you came to.
Seoho and Wooyoung both have very realistic costumes—too realistic.
But what if it's not a costume?
It's not a costume. You know it's not.
They're real vampires.
That's when your worry doubles, but not for yourself, for Wooyoung. Why was he protecting you? And just how dangerous was this Seoho guy?
You watch in horror as said vampire kicked Wooyoung in the side, a gasp leaving your mouth as he clutched his stomach with a strained expression.

"Stop!"
You didn't realize you had yelled until Seoho snapped his head towards you, his piercing red eyes burning holes into you.
"Leave him alone." You spoke firmly.
"Why do you care? You like him or something?"
Your eyes widened.
Yes. Yes you like him. Though you'd only spent a few hours with Wooyoung, you enjoyed that time and really hoped to see him again.
"That fast heartbeat of yours answers my question." Seoho chuckled. "That'll make this much more interesting."
"Y/n, get inside." Wooyoung coughed.
"You." Seoho hissed angrily, turning his attention back to Wooyoung, placing his foot on his throat. "Shut it."
"Hey!" You started running towards the two only to get shoved to the ground with ease. Seoho simply pushing you away with the push of his hand. Your elbows hit the dead, dry grass roughly making you wince in response.
"Don't touch her!" Wooyoung grabbed onto Seoho's leg that was planted on his chest and threw the vampire off to the side, buying some time. He quickly crawled towards you examining your elbows.
"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.
"Yeah I'm fine. It didn't hurt too bad."
Your eyes drifted behind Wooyoung to see Seoho getting up off the ground.
"Wooyoung, watch out!"

Before Seoho could even lay a finger on Wooyoung, he had him pinned to a tree holding him by his neck, the wood cracking underneath the pressure.
"I said if you touched her I would kill you. And I keep my promises."
"You don't want to do that."
"Why not? Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now." Wooyoung snarled.
"Because your girlfriend is watching." Seoho smirked arrogantly.
"She's not my—"
He seemed to be caught off guard enough for Seoho to free himself from Wooyoung's vice grip and climb the tree.
"Gunmin." Wooyoung growled.
"I already told you, it's Seoho."
Ignoring his response, Wooyoung started to climb up the tree but Seoho spoke up, stopping him in his tracks.
"Don't go to the trouble." He waved his hand dismissively. "Seems like it's time for me to go." He sighed, looking down at Wooyoung. "You clearly won't give up, so I'll leave you be, but it won't be the last time you see me." The vampire glanced towards you, his crimson eyes glowing with malice. "I'll see you around, doll."
You both watched as Seoho waved, disappearing somewhere in the shadowy trees.

With the threat out of sight, Wooyoung quickly rushed to your side to check on you.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, just a little on edge."
He helped you stand up, smoothing your hair and dusting off your clothes.
"So." You spoke up. "Your costume... isn't a costume."
"No." He sighed. "Are you scared of me?"
"Scared? No, not at all. To be honest, I'm actually kind of embarrassed being dressed like a vampire in front of a real vampire. I probably look silly."
Wooyoung let out a small, squeaky laugh finding it both endearing and amusing that out of all the emotions you could be feeling right now you were embarrassed.
"No. Like I said earlier, you look cute."
You blushed furiously at his compliment.
Wooyoung's gaze lingered on you for longer than you would have liked, making you shy away from his leering.

"So do you know that Seoho guy?"
His expression shifted to one of distaste. "Yeah. Back then, he went by Gunmin. We used to be friends a long time ago, but we didn't see eye to eye so we parted ways. He's the kind of vampire who preys on humans with no remorse and I hated that."
You frowned.
"He's always trying to pick fights with me, I guess because he thinks he's better than me and wants to somehow prove it. I don't know." He shrugged. "That's not important, though. I'm just glad you're not hurt."
"Me too."
He leaned in close and reached up, brushing your hair with his fingers causing your face to heat up even more.
"Sorry." He murmured bashfully. "You had grass in your hair."
"Oh." Was all you said, far too focused on Wooyoung's full lips. You could see his fangs peeking out from under his top lip but that didn't phase you. He was absolutely stunning exactly as he was.

You didn't realize you had your hand on his cheek until he cleared his throat awkwardly. Blinking yourself back to reality, you realized what you were doing.
"Oh! Sorry." You started to pull your hand away only for Wooyoung to grab it, placing it back on his cheek.
"You're so warm, Y/n." He hummed, smiling softly.
You let out a squeak when he pulled you close to him, wrapping his arm securely around your waist sending a wave of heat throughout your entire body. He removed your hand from his cheek to place a soft kiss to the back of it before leaning in and attaching his full lips to yours. Yours arms instinctively wrapped themselves around his neck as he lifted you off the ground ever so slightly. His lips moved tantalizingly slow against yours making you feel lightheaded, your fingers unconsciously grabbing fistfuls of his shirt to keep yourself grounded. His fangs poked and prodded at your bottom lip as he kissed you, but he was being so gentle they didn't draw any blood.
When he pulled away you were both in somewhat of a daze, gazing at one another in an almost drunken manner.

"We should head back inside. Don't want you to catch a cold."
"Right." You murmured.
Wooyoung laced his fingers with yours, leading you back inside where it was much warmer. The loud upbeat music reached your ears once again, bass thumping in your chest.
"Where were you guys?" Hongjoong questioned almost worriedly as he approached you and Wooyoung. "You disappeared on me."
"Outside." You both answered in unison.
"Oh." His eyes quickly drifted down to your clasped hands, a Cheshire grin tugging at the curled corners of Hongjoong's lips. "Looks like my plan worked."
"What?" You questioned.
"I introduced you guys in hopes that you'd fall for each other and it seems to have worked. Just call me Cupid." He winked before walking away, laughing proudly.
"Well, Y/n?" Wooyoung asked turning toward you. "Is he right? Did you fall for me?" He ended his question with a wink.
"Maybe a little." You teased lightly.
Wooyoung grinned, flashing his fangs before pressing a soft kiss to your cheek.
"Come on, lovely. We've got a party to enjoy."
