Stranger

There was a time where you would always be there for me

I remember when you turned to me for anything and everything

Then I did something you would never forgive

But you didn't tell me and you will never tell me

Other people knew what I did

But they have long forgotten what you said

My Foundation told me he hated you for what you did to me

And I told him to forget about it

Because I gave you your last birthday gift at age nineteen

After that, I gave up.

You were stressing me out too much

I let you go

There's a picture that I will always hang up on my wall

It's a picture of me, you, and My Foundation.

To the left, My Foundation is smiling, and I'm not paying attention. But you are on the right.

A stranger, looking at the camera

And a stranger you will remain.

All because you wouldn't communicate with me

And when I tried to communicate with you

You would turn away, acting as if you never knew who I was

A stranger I am to you

And a stranger I will remain

This is a barrier I have broken and I'm at peace with this. I remember the years I used to stress over this person. I'm glad they're gone today. Sadly, if they ever need anything from me I will give. Only because I care about them and can never truly turn my back on a person I cared about in the past. -DJ
