Giving Sasuke a wink to annoy him, I turn on the ball of my feet and head towards Gai and Lee were they were hugging with a sunset in the background. Laughing lightly I raise my hand and wave hello, "yo Gai Sensei. Lee." Both of their eyes picking up, they look at me and give a smile.
"(Y/n)!" Lee sprinting towards me, I get pushed to the ground in a hug. "You are much taller than me now, and do not fear, it will not interfere with my love for you!"
Laughing I give Lee a pat on the back, "um.. thank you, Lee, but I would really like to stand now. You know- with my two feet.. on the floor boards."
"Right!" Lee hurriedly releasing his arms from around me, he stands up on his feet a reaches a hand out for me to grab. Placing my hand in his, he pulls me to my feet swiftly.
Still strong as ever, nothing will ever seem to change that.
"(Y/n), great to see you here!" Gai's voice chiming in, he approaches my side as he looked down at me knowing the real reason why I'm here. Well, at least part of the reason why I'm here.
Smiling I raise my hand and give a little salute, "always a pleasure running into you Sensei." Glancing over my shoulder, I see my three team mates burn holes into my back, as I befriended the 'enemy'. Looking back at Gai I sigh tiredly, "how about we catch up during the chunin exam? I have to get going now, but I'll see you, alright?" Turning away from Gai Sensei, I make my way to the stairs. Right before I was going to put my foot on the first step, I hear someone call out my name. Turning around I look to see Sakura staring at me, with a blush across her cheeks.
"Yes?" Raising my eyebrows at her, stating she had my attention, I look at her angry glare.
"You where behind that pillar the entire time while they where fighting, and yet you did nothing to help the situation?" Sakura yelling at me, I take my first step up the stairs and continue walking up.
"Exactly." Making my way to the top of the stairs, I glance over my shoulder and down at them. "I wish you the best of luck on the exams everyone, especially my squad, I expect you to demolish the competition. You hear me?" Looking back towards the opening of the second floor hallway, I step in it casually. Walking through the second floor hallway I revive a lot of stares in awe and curiosity. Hanging my head a little lower, I let my hair surround me like a curtain. Bumping into someone I widen my eyes in realization that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you. It's my fault- please excuse me." A hand clutching my shoulder I look up to see Hinata, Kiba, and Shino.
"(Y/n)? Is that you?" Kiba standing on his toes he let his face come close to mine, starting at me very hard I hear a sniff come from him, and then Akumaru. "It's your scent, but.." Kiba getting back down on the sole of his feet, he looked at me confused. My gaze dropping I force a smile to my lips as I lift them back up to meet Kiba's.
"It's me Kiba, during my last mission.. I went through a major change." My eyes drifting to Hinata I see her eyes look softly at me through her bangs.
"Mhm. That would explain your scent. Tell me something only we know." Kiba probed as Akumaru barked in agreement with him. Letting out a little laugh, I lift my hand and gesture him over to me. Kiba coming over I lean down towards his ear.
"That day we got ramen together you tried to kiss me, but I said it would be better if we stayed friends. And I promised that it would be just between me, you, and Akumaru that it happened." Watching Kiba's cheeks light up red, I look to see Akumaru smiling at me. "Isn't that right, Akumaru?" Receiving a bark in response I laugh lightly as I take my hand from my side and pet him. Moving my hand from Akumaru I straighten my back to my original posture and see Kiba's eye's look to his squad members.
"It's her guys." Kiba mumbles even quieter than Hinata, I wave at them.
"No hugs for a friend Hinata?" Raising my arms up in a hug, I see a bashful blush dust her cheeks.
"Uh-h, s-sure," walking towards me cautiously she lifts her arms and hugs me, hugging her back I smile gently.
They still wanna be friends with me.
Parting from each other I give a wave to Shino, "what's up, my favorite insect loving dude? My man Shinoo!" Shooting him a peace sign he sweat drops at my obnoxious behavior.
"Nice to know I'm not forgotten for once," Shino waving back I see a couple bugs flow from his sleeve.
Don't freak out, those are Shino's bugs, he controls them. Don't kill them, you'll kill Shino mentally inside. Breathe, breathe, breathe. Bee good. Haha, puns.
"So you three are here for the chunin exam I presume?" Stretching my arms above my head I cross cross them behind my neck, lacing my fingers together to lock them in place.
"Yes we are! We're going to crush those other squads!" Kiba yelled out as determined as Naruto for the chunin exams.
Laughing I smile, "well you can try beating my squad, but that won't exactly work out in your favor, ya know?"
Everyone looking at me I see Kiba smirk evilly at me, "oh yeah! Let's bet on it!" Shrugging I move my arms from behind my head and place my hand on Kiba's head.
"Maybe next time, I have to get going now." Ruffling his hoodie I see a blush dust his cheeks once more. Lifting my hand from his head, I walk past Hinata. Reaching in my pouch I grab a scroll, biting my thumb, I smear my blood on it. With a poof sound, a beautiful yellow rose appears. "Hold out your hand," Hinata doing as I asked, I lay the delicate flower in her hand. "Maybe I look different Hinata, but I'm still your friend. Yellow roses symbolizes friendship, please keep this as long as you can, it'll be very dear to my heart if you do." Smiling gently, I roll up the scroll and place it back in my pouch swiftly. Walking past Shino I give a wave of acknowledgement. Silently listening to the group I hear Shino finally speak up.
"(Y/n)'s changed."
"Yeah," Hinata agreeing softly, I feel her eyes look up from the flower to my back.
"You guys. She's still (Y/n)!" Kiba argues back as I can hear the rage in his voice.
"No. Her personality aura used to be more relaxed, now it's more.." Shino began as he slowly pondered what kind of aura it was.
"More like Kurenai sensei's." Hinata finishes for Shino. Feeling my heart grow heavy at their comments, I sigh as I walk towards the secluded windows showing the beautiful scenery of the Leaf Village. Leaning on the window sill with my forearms, I stare out in thought.
"You got a lot on your mind?" That all to familiar voice vibrating through my ears, I look up to see the man I love. Kakashi coming to a stop on the right side of me, he leans against the window sill with his back. Crossing his arms against his chest, he glances at me, analyzing my features.
"Yeah."
"Like what?"
My eyes moving back from his onyx eye, I look out to the beautiful scenery once more, "have I changed?"
"Changed how?"
Sighing I close my eyes, placing my forehead on the wood sill, "you know what I mean Kakashi." A hand being placed on my back comfortably, it rubs up and down.
"No. You may have changed externally, and your skills may have risen, but that doesn't change you." Kakashi moving his hand from my back, I move my head to let my cheek rest on the window sill.
"I mean my personality. Do I seem a little bit.. unease, or, I don't know, harsh?" Kakashi glancing up in the deserted hallway he places his gloves hand on my cheek. His thumb gently moving back and forth, he leans down placing a kiss on my head.
"(Y/n), people may think, and call you things that aren't true. A shinobi life is very complex, you change as time goes on, but you still remain you. No matter how hard we try to cover up we're human, we are. It just so happens (Y/n), you went through that pain, and change, all in just a week. You will find your path (Y/n), give it time." Kakashi smiling gently down at me, I feel my heart ache. Tears daring to spill, I quickly sense around for anyone in the classroom to our right. Noticing no one was, I stand up and grab his hand. Pulling open the classroom door, I pull him in swiftly as I shut the door, and locking it. Running into his arms I hug him tightly as I let a few tears slide. Kakashi's arms wrapping around me, I tuck my head into his vest.
"Thank you, Kakashi." Sniffling in his arms, he rubs my back soothingly as always.
"You always seem to find a way to surprise me (Y/n)." Kakashi's voice soothingly bringing my tears to a halt I pull far away enough to look at him. Lifting his hand he takes his thumb and wipes away one of my stray tears, "you cry a lot now and days."
Laughing lightly I move my head to be tucked underneath his chin, "it won't happen for awhile now, I promise. It's just been, a very long journey for me."
"And that's okay."
Breathing in a lot of air, I let it out with a sigh, "I have to go meet up with Gai Sensei now." Untangling my self from Kakashi, his hands lay firmly on my hips. Standing up on my toes, I give Kakashi a peck on the lips. "I love you," getting back on the sole of my feet I give a smile as Kakashi gives a squeeze to my hips and releases me.
"I love you too, beautiful." A blush dusting my cheeks, my heart does backflips at those three words. Turning around I walk towards the classroom door. Unlocking it, I look over my shoulder to see Kakashi reading his make out paradise.
"Kakashi?" My voice coming out quietly, he hums in acknowledgment, "I won't be able to see you until the third round of the chunin exams are over. Just thought you should know." Opening the door I step out into the hallway, closing it behind me, I make my way back towards the training area in the school building. Walking in, I see Gai and his summoning turtle having a talk about Lee. Walking down the stairs, my foot steps echo throughout the tall ceilinged building. Gai's head lifting he smiles brightly as he sees me.
"Ah! I see you have finally arrived! Are you ready for this youthful experience?" Gai yelling at me enthusiastically he points his finger up at me. Giving a nod, I finally reach the bottom as I walk in front of Gai sensei. Looking up at him he smiles down at me. "Alright! Now let's start off with the basics!"
Throughout the next hour, Gai Sensei pushes all my buttons on training, and how he's better than Kakashi. Lifting my hand I wipe the sweat dripping from my forehead. Since Gai Sensei knew all about Yoko sealed inside me, he knew that I could open the gates with ease, sustain damage, and yet heal quickly. The only other risk to his training method was the possibility of me leaking out Yoko's chakra and having a cloak. Falling to the ground as my skin sizzled around me, I breathe out heavily as I look up at Gai.
"You did good (Y/n)." Gai sensei smiling down at me he hands me a pouch full of water, "take a rest now. The written exams are almost over." Taking the water, I quickly chug it all down as my skin begins to piece itself back together. Feeling someone else's chakra link up to mine, I hear Mr.Inochi's voice.
"Hello, (Y/n)?"
Blinking I cough lightly, as I respond back.
"Yes, I'm listening."
"Good. Lord Hokage wishes for you to go and observe the second round of the chunin exams closely tomorrow's morning. This is a A ranked covert mission, you must keep yourself hidden well."
"Right. I'll get to it right away. Thank you sir."
Standing up, I swipe the little water droplets from my mouth, "I must get going now Gai Sensei, I want to meet up with my squad members and see how they did. Thank you very much, we must meet up after the chunin exams are over so we can resume opening the gates once more." Bowing swiftly, I raise my hand in my transportation jutsu. Appearing in the room where the chunin exams where taking place, I find my self appear on a table. Looking behind me I see Anko and Ibiki looking at me like a foreign object. "Yo," lifting my hand with a small wave I give a laugh.
"Who are you?" Yelled a kid from underneath my feet looking up at me.
Jumping off the table I slam my hands on the table, "my name is (Y/n) (L/n), apart of team seven! Am I right you guys!" Scaring the black haired kid with glasses, he slowly scoots his chair away from me. "Naruto! How'd you do buddy?"
Looking up at him I see him give me a thumbs up, "I passed!" Smiling at each other I give him a thumbs up back.
"(Y/n)!" A green suited Lee standing up he waves obnoxiously at me. "I passed as well!"
Kiba standing up with Akumaru he smiles a toothy grin, "we passed too!"
Ino looking at me, she gives a wave and a small smile, "you know that we passed."
"Can you leave now, you're stealing my thunder (Y/n)," Anko whined as she looked at me.
Laughing lightly I turn around a give a pat on Anko's shoulder, "I'm sorry Anko, I'll treat you to some Dango's later." Anko smiling she does a yes motion with her fist, nodding with a smile I move my hand from her shoulder. Leaning towards her I whisper in her ear, "tomorrow I've been assigned to watch over the proceedings of the second part of the chunin exams. I will be in anbu uniform, and please only refer to me as Captain."
"Got it."
