(Y/N)'s Pov
"Well..."
Tord began as he scratched his blushing cheeks. He wrapped his arm around me and pull me closer to him.
"Edd. Do you remember the (Y/N) from middle school?"
Tord asked Edd. Before Edd answered his question, he took a quick sip from his coke.
"Yeah what about it?"
Tord looked over at me.
"Well... This is (Y/N)."
His eyes widen in realization as he glanced over at me.
"T-That's (Y/N)?"
He stuttered as he pointed at me. I simply nodded.
"Yep this is me!"
I pointed at myself and laughed awkwardly.
"D-Do you remember me?"
Edd asked as he looked down. I thought to myself for a few seconds. Then his image popped into his head.
"Ohhh yeeeaaah..."
I looked over at Edd and smirked.
"You were that one small kid with braces and glasses right? You were a tiny emo back then."
I chuckled at the thought of fourteen year old Edd. Edd scratched the back of his head and looked down in embarrassment.
"H-Hah yeah.."
He bit his lip.
"Man. You've grown. I stayed small."
I crossed my arms and sighed. I felt Tord pet my hair. I playfully pushed his hand away slowly. I looked.
"Hey! Don't mess up up my hair!"
I giggled and he smirked at me.
"Same o'l (N/N)..."
Tord smirked. I felt my checks burn up slightly. Did he really just call me (N/N).
"Y-You still remember t-that name?"
I said in shock. He stuck out his tongue cutely.
"Mhmm~"
He chuckled. Back in middle school, Tord would always call me (N/N) to make me feel special. This, however, turned into a problem for me so he had to eventually stop calling me (N/N) in public. This happened just before I moved away.
~Flashback to age 14~
"Hey... (Y/N)..?"
I looked over to Tord who had a light blush spread across his face.
"Y-Yeah..?"
I asked quietly as I ate my sandwich. He scratched the back of his head. His eyes darted away from mine. He looked nervous.
"Do... Do you... Do you want to be my girlfr-"
Just before Tord could finish his sentence, (B/N) walked over to us and hugged Tord from his back.
"Tordy~!"
She rubbed her pretty little cheeks against Tord's. She squeezed him in a hug. I looked at her in disgust. Tord didn't seem to want to talk to her at the moment. He looked unamused.
"How has my-"
Her eyes darted towards me. She grinned.
"...BOYFRIEND been this summer~?"
I grunt my teeth together in discomfort. I immediately stood up and grabbed my lunch.
"...Excuse m-me..."
I muttered quietly. I walked out of the cafeteria and headed outside. I wasn't going to stand there and have rub all of her glory in my face. She was always trying to make me feel bad about myself. When was she going to stop. I dropped my lunch sat under a tree. I curled up into a ball and buried my head into my arms. I said like that for a few moments until I felt a hand rub my back.
"Tord g-go away."
I muttered quietly. I felt him sit next to me. I let out a sigh. I knew he was going to give me a lecture about what had happened and such. He sighed.
"Hey... (Y/N)..."
He began.
"I don't know why (B/N) did that back there but..."
I felt him pull his hand away.
"I'm not their boyfriend... I would never date someone who bullies you. You know that. I made that very clear to them."
I slowly popped out my head and looked over at Tord. He looked sad, but once he met eyes with mine he smiled.
"W-What were y-you going to t-tell me back there... before (B/N) i-interrupted you?"
I asked him quietly. His face suddenly burned up.
"I-uh... Ehm... Err..."
He tugged his shirt's collar as his eyes looked away from me in embarrassment.
"I-I was going to ask you if... i-if..."
He sighed and looked back at me.
"If.... If I could call you (N/N).. Y'know since we've known each other for a while."
He slightly grinned as he held out his hand to me and stood up. He looked as if he wanted to tell me something else, but I didn't question him. I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.
"S-Sure!"
I slightly blushed as I scratched the back of my head awkwardly.
"Well, let's go on and head to class... (N/N)."
He winked. I glared at him playfully.
"Stop being w-weird you t-turd."
I poked him. He chuckled at my actions as we walked to class.
~Time skip to three weeks later~
"S-STOP! P-PLEASE LET ME-"
My cries were interrupted by one of (B/N)'s friends shoving their hand over my mouth.
"Shut up, you clearly deserve this..."
(B/N) muttered coldly as she told her friend to duck tape my mouth. I gave out muffled screams now and then but it was not use. No one could hear me. I felt tears stream down my face. Tord where are you? I was breathing heavily in fear. (B/N) shot a glare and me.
"Pathetic is it not? Here I am... clearly the prettiest and most important girl in this stupid school and he chooses you. You of all people..."
My eyes widen. What is she talking about? She grunts her teeth together then glares at me coldly.
"A common UGLY and DISGUSTING BRAT who has no life... He even gave you a nickname... I'm about to change all that..."
She shot a glare at me before snapping her finger.
"Do it."
They all took out black sharpies. My eyes widen. Oh no. They opened the caps and smirked. No please no. I shook my head sideways, clearly not wanting all of them to write all over my face. They all started giggling as the sharpies made contact with my face. I gave out muffled cries of fear.
"Guess what!"
One of the girls spoke.
"What?"
Another one replied.
"It's permanent sharpie!"
They all giggled in humor. I on the other hand, was having the worst time of my life. I tried pushing them away, but that only resulted in a few of them holding my arms and legs down. I struggled to get away but there was too many of then. I couldn't escape. I didn't have any friends that would help me other than Tord. But we were in the girl's bathroom. He obviously wouldn't just wander in here.
"That's enough..."
(B/N)'s voice echoed offthe bathroom walls. The girls pulled away from me. They were all laughing and pointing their fingers at me. I felt tears swell up into my eyes. What did they do to me? (B/N) signaled all her friends to leave the bathroom. She turned towards me. She had this big, evil smirk across her face.
"This was just a warning '(N/N).' I don't want you any where near MY boyfriend ever again. It's bad enough he gave you a nickname... GOT IT!?"
She pushed me onto the dirty floor of the bathroom stall. I hit the back of my head on the toilet seat. I rubbed the back of my head as I looked up at (B/N) before she walked out of the room. I felt tears stream down my face. I quickly got up and ran up to the mirror. My eyes widen in disbelief. I was covered in swears and curses written all over my face. I slowly brought my hand up against my cheek. I slowly traced the words stained onto my skin. Tears crashed into my fingers as I glared at myself in the mirror. I heard the bell ring. I tried washing my face off as fast as I could. I looked up at the mirror once again. It wasn't coming off.
"No n-no no..."
I started to panic. I can't go to class like this! I heard footsteps just behind the bathroom walls. They were all heading to class. But this time, I wasn't joining them. I ran towards the bathroom stall and shut the door closed. I quickly looked it before leaning against the wall while running my fingers through my hair. I never really had ditch class before, but I was too messed up at the moment to care. I wiped my tears away and whipped out my phone. I was going to be here for a while.
All through out the day, I heard people walk in, gossip, and walk out. I would switch bathroom stalls now and then after they left, just so others wouldn't get suspicious.
Eventually came the end of the day. I slowly opened the stall door once I heard the final bell. I gave myself a quick look in the mirror.
"Yep, still there..."
I muttered to myself. I quickly pulled up my hoodie so it would somewhat cover half my face, including my eyes. I fast walked towards my locker and immediately opened my locker and tore my backpack out of my locker. I quickly slipped it on and ran towards the door, making it outside to a raining world. Great. I had to walk home in this. It was pouring down really badly. I slowly walked over to the street so I could head home. I sighed as I finally arrived home. I took my soaking hoodie off, revealing my face. I heard a gasp and I spun my heard towards the sound, it was my mom. She had a terrified look in her eyes. Oh no... now I have to tell her what happened...
~Flashback over~
"(Y/N)?"
Tord asked. That snapped me back to reality. I shook my head before rubbing my head.
"Y-Yeah?"
I asked. Had he asked me something.
"Did... Did the name '(N/N)' bother...? Because..."
He trailed off. I looked up at him and managed smile.
"No. It's fine... It's in the past."
I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. I looked over at Edd. His eyes widen as we made eye contact, but he seemed to understand what I wanted him to do.
"Ah... I-I'll be going now."
He awkwardly walked out of the kitchen with a coke in hand. Tord turned to look at me and gave me a small smile. He extended his arms and pulled me in for a hug. I was short so I just hit his red hoodie. I looked at him with a flustered look. He chuckled at my current state.
"I missed you (Y/N)..."
He muttered to me. I tugged his hoodie and buried my face into his hoodie.
"I missed you too Tord..."
