Ten minutes later, everything had returned under control.
Yoongi and Jimin had stopped crying and now sat at the edge of the bed, while the other boys remained where they already were.
Ms Soojin had gone outside to talk to Mr Lee, her driver who'd been working for her since her marriage, over the phone about something important, while Jin, who looked really sleepy as he cuddled in Namjoon's arms, fought to stay awake. It was hard to, when Namjoon kept leaving feather-soft kisses on his face now and then.
A cleaning lady had taken care of the spilled food that Namjoon had dropped (everyone had teased him about his clumsiness even a while ago). The silence was peaceful, and the boys kept taking peeks at their drowsy hyung, as if they couldn't believe he was real.
The quiet moment was broken as a knock was heard at the door. This caused everyone to look up, and Jin to whine because he just wanted to fall asleep and not have to meet visitors. He was tired from all the overwhelming feelings he'd had since he woke up. It was physically exhausting.
"I'll get it," Taehyung said as he stood up and went to open the door, followed by Jungkook, who was curious.
"Joonie," Jin sighed tiredly as he snuggled up to him, resembling a sleepy baby bird.
"What is it, angel?" Namjoon asked softly as he rubbed his back up and down soothingly.
"Is it the doctor?"
"No, if it'd been her, she'd have just entered after knocking."
"I want to sleep," Jin huffed, pouting in Namjoon's arms as he used his chest as his pillow.
"Then go to sleep, sweetheart. We'll talk to the visitors for you." Namjoon smiled as he kissed his hair while he yawned softly.
"Okay... I love you~"
"I love you too, baby."
Jin smiled at the confession as he closed his eyes, but his wish to sleep was shattered when he heard Taehyung's voice shouting in surprise.
"Samchon! You're really here?!"
Jin immediately sat up on Namjoon's lap, and was about to get off of him as soon as he heard that Bangtan's most important CEO was here, but his boyfriend held him tightly in place. Jin whined at this, but was silenced by Namjoon's reassuring look and his kiss on his nose before the mint-haired male looked up, craning his neck and frowning as he looked at the door entrance.
Jin looked up too with his cheek squashed against his boyfriend's buff chest, timid and trying to stay calm, his head being held by Namjoon right over his heart.
Jin saw that Taehyung and Jungkook had moved away from the door to let in a tall handsome man in a black suit before closing the door, both staring at him in awe.
"Is this how you greet your samchon when you see him, nephew?" The man said with a childish pout that didn't match his extremely deep voice.
"I'm just surprised because you never said you were coming!" Taehyung said defensively.
"Oh, I intended to keep it a surprise," The man chuckled, glancing between his youngest nephew and Jungkook. "My, is this the boyfriend you were talking about, Tae? Jeon Jungkook?"
"Yes!" Taehyung finally looked at ease as he side-hugged a shy and awkward Jungkook with a grin. "The one and only."
"Damn, you really look fit," CEO Kim grinned, ruffling the maknae's hair. "We should become gym buddies, hmm?"
"Mr Kim!" Yoongi blurted out, finally breaking out of his surprise at seeing his best friend's samchon when he least expected to, and getting up to walk up to the man, Jimin following him with uncertainty.
Mr Kim turned around to look at him, and his face broke into a wider smile, showing dimples.
"Now, if it isn't the infamous Min Yoongi!" He said loudly, taking the boy's hand to shake it once he reached him, Jimin peeking from over his shoulder shyly.
"This visit was rather sudden," Yoongi remarked as he accepted the handshake, showing off his gummy smile. "Was the journey fine?"
"Haha, yes." Mr Kim beamed, and then catching sight of Jimin's big eyes behind Yoongi, he stopped shaking his hand. "Aigoo, is this the cutie you're dating, Yoongi?"
"Well, yes," Yoongi said, pulling a reluctant Jimin over to his side and hugging him to his chest. "This is my lovely boyfriend, Park Jimin."
"H-hello, Mr Kim," Jimin stuttered, blushing.
"Aww," Mr Kim cooed, smiling. "You're a one lucky guy, Min. Make sure you deserve him."
Jimin blushed harder, though he wasn't as flustered as when Yoongi kissed his forehead, as if he was the most precious person to him.
Mr Kim looked around and his gaze fell on Hoseok, who was standing nearby. He bowed at him as the older man reached to shake hands with him with a smile. "You're the Jung Hoseok, as far as I recall?"
"Yes, sir," Hoseok said politely.
"Whose boyfriend are you then?" The CEO asked with a chuckle.
"Nobody's yet." The boy smiled with a shrug.
"Aah." Mr Kim nodded in understanding as he smiled ruefully. "I can relate, son, I can relate."
"You came to see Jin hyung, I suppose?"
"Oh, yes." The man sighed, nodding as he looked around at the five young men. "I meant to come earlier, but you know, work is a complete pain in the... uh, you know. But there's nothing more important than meeting my nephew's beautiful groom."
Everyone cleared their throats, while Taehyung said, "Uhh, samchon, don't you think it's too early-?"
"Better early than later," his samchon cut him off. "Now, where's my nephew and his lovely boyfriend?"
Jin colored at finally being mentioned, and he hid his face quickly in Namjoon's chest, hugging him tightly and trying to appear as small as possible. His boyfriend smiled at his bashfulness and didn't bother him as he grinned up at his samchon, who was now led to the hospital bed by the boys.
"Hi, samchon," he said while tightening his hold around Jin, who was literally pinned to his body as he still sat on his lap. "How was the journey?"
"Tiring," the CEO huffed as he sat right across the two on the bed, trying to get a look at Jin and melting when he saw how he was trying to avoid his gaze. "Aww, Namjoon, he's adorable! Won't he let his boyfriend's samchon see how handsome he is?"
"Let him be, samchon," Namjoon said with a chuckle, trying to convince Jin to greet the man. "He's just shy."
"I'm not," Jin whined, before determinedly turning his face around to look at Mr Kim to prove Namjoon wrong.
He didn't know why he was so nervous, but he couldn't help it. He was literally so close to one of Bangtan's top celebrities for heaven's sake! Moreover, he was his boyfriend's uncle and guardian. What if he thought that he didn't deserve Namjoon in the end?
Nevertheless, he swallowed hard, wishing he didn't appear red in the face. "H-hello, Mr K-Kim," he said in a tiny voice, clutching Namjoon's shirt in one hand.
"Omo, you're more gorgeous up close than those pictures!" Mr Kim exclaimed, looking ecstatic. "Namjoon, I have to say this. You're very lucky, nephew. Make sure nobody snatches this gentle beauty away from you."
"I know, I know," Namjoon smiled, but not for long, when his samchon took Jin's right hand and kissed the top of it, making him blush and laugh shyly.
He wasn't going to let his samchon take away his man. Hell, nah. He pulled Jin back to his chest possessively, making his hyung snuggle up to him as he gave Mr Kim, who was now smirking at his jealous nephew, a look of warning. The other boys shared amused looks as they noticed the tension between the uncle and the nephew.
"Joonie?" Jin said softly from Namjoon's chest, finally breaking the tension as everyone looked at him.
"Yes, baby?" Namjoon asked just as gently, shooting his samchon one last look.
Jin smiled up at him with squashed cheeks. "Were your dad and Mr Kim twins? You look like your samchon."
"No, his father was much older than me," Mr Kim said before Namjoon could, smiling at the two. "By five years or so. Tae got his looks from both him and my sister-in-law, while Joon doesn't look much like them. He inherited his looks completely from his grandfather, and so did I."
"Oh..." Jin nodded slowly, looking at the man with wide eyes. "When you entered, I thought you were Joon, but his much older self, Mr Kim."
The CEO laughed. "Yes, people had asked me several times if he was my son-"
He stopped talking and looked around like the others when he heard the door open, and his jaw dropped when he saw Jin's mother walk in.
"Hey, boys, the doctor is going to come soon, and when she does...- um, hello?" Ms Soojin stopped talking when she spotted Mr Kim looking at her like she was something unreal.
Namjoon, Yoongi and Jungkook respectively shared looks with Jin, Jimin and Taehyung, while Hoseok just watched with interest, as Mr Kim stood up and bowed at Ms Soojin, who merely raised her eyebrow as the man looked at her in awe. As if she was used to this kind of attention. Namjoon got strongly reminded of Jin during the first time they met.
"You're so beautiful," Mr Kim said breathlessly, but then he got himself together and talked in the deepest musculine voice he possessed as he took Ms Soojin's hand to kiss it. "Will you go out on a da-"
"No, thank you," Jin's mother said indifferently, though there was a faint pink tint on her cheeks as she snatched her hand out of Namjoon's uncle's, walking over to her son and leaving Mr Kim watch after her with a whipped expression.
The maknae's covered their mouths to stifle their giggles while Yoongi bit back a smirk, and Hoseok was simply amused by this interaction between the two adults. Namjoon gave Jin as knowing look, which the latter scoffed at with a roll of his eyes.
While Ms Soojin made Jin drink some more water as he still rested in Namjoon's lap, Mr Kim sulked while sitting on a chair with the other boys, till the doctor came with a couple of nurses and they'd to leave.
The two adults remained, as well as Namjoon, since Jin was dead-set on having him with him the whole time. And he didn't make much of an effort to leave either.
The doctor asked Jin about how he was feeling, took his temperature and blood pressure, and performed other check-ups. The nurses helped him take off all the bandages since his stitched cuts were healed enough to not need them any longer.
But as soon as Jin saw how much his side had healed, he was shocked.
"How did this heal so much in just one day?" He said, looking up at Namjoon with terrified eyes.
"It doesn't take one day for everything to heal, dear," the doctor said kindly. "You'd been unconscious for a whole week."
"A week?" Jin looked like he'd been struck, and when he turned his head to look between Namjoon and Ms Soojin, he saw the guilty looks on their faces. "W-what is today's date, Joonie?"
Jin felt as if a heavy stone had been dropped at the pit of his stomach as he realized something...
"December twenty-first, Jinnie," Namjoon said with a very nervous look, and he tried to comfort him by rubbing his back, but Jin pushed him away with tears welling upto his eyes.
"N-no! T-t-this can't be h-happening. W-what happened to our e-examinations? Don't tell me they're over! We w-were supposed to graduate t-together, J-Joonie! W-we were supposed to go to c-college t-together!"
Jin started sobbing, feeling as if he'd woken up just to find that the world had fallen apart, along with all the hopes he'd had with his life.
