(One Month later, 37 weeks pregnant)

This has to be the hundredth time that Ryder had sent me to Target and Home Depot for Christmas stuff. I must have already spent a couple thousand dollars on lights. I never actually decorate for Christmas since I go to my parents, but she insisted saying next Christmas we will have the baby and its time to start traditions. I was just about to get in my car and head home with her Christmas lights and candy canes when my phone rang.
"Hello"
"Joe?"
"Yeah"
"Its Mary Anne, that package is officially ready to go, when do you think you be coming to pick it up?"
"Are you home now? Im out picking up more Christmas lights for my girlfriend, I can swing by?"
"I'll be home for about the next hour"
"Im about twenty minutes away"
"Thats fine"
"Its $3400 left right?"
"Yes"
"Ok, I will stop at the bank and be there."
This is perfect, Ryder is busy home and she will never expect this, she just things Im getting lights. I pulled through the drive thru teller and pulled out the money and headed over to Mary Anne's. I just hope Ryder likes it. I pulled up to a small house at the very edge of Dorchester and headed to the door. I rang the doorbell. It was a minute before this small elderly woman showed up the door. She reminded me a lot of my grandmother.
"Joesph, nice to see you again."
"Nice to see you again"
"My husband and myself just got back with them and everything checks out so she is ready to go."
"Great my girlfriend Ryder doesn't know anything, I can't wait to surprise her."
"She is a very lucky young lady to have a boyfriend who thinks of her like this."
"Thanks."
I reached into my pocket and handed her the money. I have never spent this amount of money on a girl. She walked out of the room to return later with a blanket in her arms. She handed it over to me and I moved the blanket to see the tiniest Tea Cup Yorkie asleep. Ryder has always wanted one and her father could never get her one because of what they cost. Its our first Christmas together as a couple I wanted to get her something she has always wanted. I have another surprise that goes with it later but its not something that Im going to give her till Christmas Eve. I climbed back into the car and laid the puppy on my lap just hoping it will stay put well I drive back to Brookline.
Joey drove out to Milton to go get me more lights, now I can finally get up here and do the archways in the hallway and the living room without him jumping up my ass. Im pregnant not broken, I get on the ladder to hang up something and he shits a frisbee. I turned on my favorite song Tiny's What the fuck you gonna do and climbed up and started to hang the garland. I don't know how long I was decorating when I heard the front door close and the alarm beep. I didn't worry about, if it was anyone other than Joey Rocky would be freaking out. I didn't think anything of it and continued to work on my decorations.
"Jesus woman, what have I told you about getting. up there."
"Bite my ass, Im fine Joey."
I suddenly felt hands on my hips helping me down before he turns me around and pulls me into him. He pressed his lips to mine and I couldn't help the small moan.
"Baby Love close your eyes"
"Joey what you talking about?"
"Just do it."
I sat with my eyes closed for a minute.
"Open your eyes...."
I opened my eyes and seen him walking back in the room with something in his arms.
"Joey...."
I could see his smile beaming as he walked over.
"This is for you"
He placed a blanket in my hand and I moved, I didn't expect when I moved the blanket to see this tiny puppy wrapped in it. I was speechless. I just looked up at him and pressed my lips to his.
"Joey you didn't"
"Do you like her?"
"Joey oh my god, why?"
"Because, you have wanted one since we were twelve and Britney's dad got her one for her birthday and you could never get one because of what they cost."
"Joey why would you spend that much on me?"
"because I love you, I'd spend a thousand times that to watch you face light up like it is."

She crushed her mouth to mine and moaned against it. My tongue slid in her mouth and I couldn't help but smile. I pulled back out of breath and whispered,
"Why don't we let the puppy and Rocky get aquinted and we can go upstairs and you can show me how nice you made the bed."
"What did you have in mind?"

My body shivered as he grabbed my hand leading me up the stairs. He pushed the door open and pulled me in kissing me so deeply. His hand slid to my waist holding me against him as his teeth tugged at my bottom lip before kissing me again. My body being backed up till I was laying on the bed. He pulled back long enough to pull his sweatshirt over his head and dropping it to the floor before he climbs up my body. I laid next to him he grabbed my leg and with a kiss he pushed in.
I couldn't help to moan as my nails scratched at his back.

Neither one of us moved just stayed that way trying to catch our breath.
I looked up at her, her skin pink and sweaty, her chest heaving up and down and I couldn't help but lean in and kiss her. We just laid there in eachothers arms for I don't even know how long. When I looked up her she had fallen asleep. I just watched her for a minute, she really has been it for me for so long I wish I told all those years ago. I leaned and kissed her lips before I pulled myself out. I covered her up, I don't have the heart to wake her. In just three weeks our son is going to be here and she hasn't taken any downtime yet. Now is a better time than any to go get some of her Christmas gifts wrapped well she is asleep. The closet in the office is stocked up full of gifts for her.
I tossed on my underwear again and walked downstairs. I turned the corner and Rocky was asleep with Ryder's puppy. I smiled Im glad they got along. I opened the office door and got to work on the hundred and one gifts. I don't know how long I was in the office but I ended up calling it a night after I ran out of tape and wrapping paper.
Over the next week Ryder increasingly became more and more tired and in pain. Couple nights ago she called me when I was in the studio and I had to rush home and take her to Saint Mary's Hospital. The guys even worried. Jonathan came with me to take her. I didn't know what was going to happen and if something bad happened I had the support with me and he could let the rest of the guys know. It turned out to be false labor and they told her to take it easy and no sex for the rest of the pregnancy. Not to say that disappointed me because when Im with her she makes me feel invincible, but I don't want to risk anything when it comes to our child. Danny has been helping me lately navigate what its going to be like to be a father and when I see him with his son and daughters part of me wants a daughter too.
It was the week before Christmas and I found myself at Joey's parents house without him. Over the last weeks the bond and the comfortableness I had with his mother increased and now here I am working on Christmas gifts and helping her plan Christmas Eve and day dinner. Ever since I went to the hospital Joey has been on edge and refuses to let me be alone. Ive spent so much time between studio's, interviews and photo shoots with him it became overwhelming. If I wasn't with him I had to be with someone else. Ive spent more time in the last couple weeks with Jordan than all the years I had know him.
I slid on the chair at the isle, Kay was at the stove making me chicken noodle soup, to take the chill off me as she puts it from the cold Boston snow.
"So darling you're due in exactly a week do you and Joesph have everything ready?"
"He has my bag in the car, nursery is done. Now we just wait for the baby, why what am I missing?"
"Have you got the babies clothes all washed in that Dreft soap I got you? What about the bottles have they been sterilized."
"Ummm no"
"Ryder, it. has to be done."
"I just haven't had the time, ever since I got out from the hospital, Joey is crazy! I can't be left alone so as much running around he does, I am too. If Im not with him Jordan been babysitting me or Im here. After we finally get home Im too tired for anything else."
"I get it, Joesph has been a little crazier than usual lately. He just wants everything to go soothly with this baby. Thats what we all want."
"Its becoming a little much"
"he is a first time father Thomas was the same way, he gets it honest. Have you and Joesph decided on a name?"
"Yes, but where not saying till he is born."
"Least that is done."
I couldn't help but smile as she chuckled.
"Come on Ryder lets get working on these cookies before Joesph comes to get you."
