The next day, Yunjin woke up to an empty bed. You must've been making breakfast. You're usually the one who cooks for all of them.
After checking the time on her phone, she got out of bed and sleepily trudged out of your room and into the kitchen, only to be met with silence. There was nobody there. Odd.
She rubbed her eyes and felt more awake now. She stood still and listened for any noise (she has heightened hearing and smell), but all she heard was the familiar pattern of Chaewon's snores. Your scent around the house was faint too, as if you haven't been here for a few hours.
Yunjin looked around and caught a glimpse of the shoe rack, and saw that your sneakers were gone. Could you have gone on a run? But you usually leave her a text whenever you do, because Yunjin's never awake when you leave.
Yunjin was beginning to get a bad feeling in her gut. She felt uneasy, like something was wrong. Very wrong.
It's amazing to her how quickly she's grown fond of you and Chaewon (especially you), and she can confidently say that she would kill for the both of you. She could even admit that she loves the two of you. And perhaps she loves you in a way that's different from the love she feels for Chaewon.
Shaking her head to snap out of her thoughts, Yunjin ran towards Chaewon's room and burst through the door loudly enough that it woke Chaewon up (the younger is a light sleeper-which would make it all the more confusing on how you've managed to leave the house without anyone noticing).
"Chaewon!" Upon walking closer to the younger, Yunjin took notice of the purple bruise forming under Chaewon's right eye.
Yunjin's eyes widened. "What the hell happened?" She questioned frantically. Now she was even more on edge. If Chaewon's hurt like this and you're gone, who's to say that you're not injured worse than this?
Chaewon seemed to be in a daze for a moment, before she snapped out of it and looked up at Yunjin with tears brimming her eyes.
"Yunjin-unnie!" She called out, grabbing Yunjin's hands and pulling her closer with a fearful look in her watery eyes. "Y-Y/N! We have to save her! Someone- S-Someone was her earlier this morning, and- and- and they took her! I tried to stop them, b-but they hit me and ran! They said some-something about wanting to get back at someone named- named Dákry!" She took a deep breath and hiccuped as she lowered her head. "I don't k-know where they took her. I'm so sorry." She whispered solemnly.
Yunjin's face immediately fell. Dákry. She hasn't been called by that name in a long time. She never thought she would have to hear it again after leaving her home. And if the person she suspects is actually the one who took you, then now she was even more worried. Her blood began to boil at just the thought of you being put in harm's way.
But right now, she has to calm Chaewon down quickly. Then she can focus on saving you.
Chaewon was now sitting at the edge of her bed, hands tangled in her hair as she wept. Her back was hunched, and her fingers were lightly tugging at her shoulder-length locks of hair. Yunjin immediately removed the younger's hands and wrapped her arms around Chaewon, bringing her into her comforting embrace.
After a few moments of tense silence, in which one could only hear Chaewon's quiet sniffles and hiccups, Yunjin spoke up. "It's not your fault, Won, okay? The man who took Y/N isn't human, you wouldn't have stood a chance anyway. But try not to worry too much. I promise you, I will save her and bring her back safe and sound. I promise. And when Y/N and I return, the two of us will shower her with love, yeah?" She tried her best to smile at the younger, but it was hard. Yunjin truly cared about you, and with caring came worry and fear of losing you.
If she lost you, who else would yell at her for not neatly placing her shoes on the rack, or for leaving a bag of chips on the counter? Who else would come to her for cuddles and comfort? Who else would show her genuine love and affection? With you, she experiences things she's never been able to do back at home. Real love, affection, and a sense of belonging. If she lost you, everything would fall apart for her, truly. Over the time she's spent with you, you've become the meaning of her life; the reason she smiles everyday; the one who knows her the best. She can't lose you.
Over a month ago, Yunjin used to be heartless. She used to hurt and use people without a second thought. She used to treat other people like they were nothing. But after you let her into your life and welcomed her into your home (admittedly via a threat against your and Chaewon's lives), she's felt like a real person with feelings. She feels capable of love and joy and purpose. She's forever grateful.
"I'm coming with you." Chaewon stated out of nowhere, wiping her tears as she did. She then stood up.
Yunjin looked at the younger incredulously. "No the hell you aren't. Do you know how dangerous a fight between two demigods can be? Chaewon, I'm not going to let you die." She snapped.
Chaewon stepped closer to Yunjin. "I said I'm coming with you, and the only way you're going to stop me is by killing me."
Once again, a tense silence fell over them. Yunjin and Chaewon held eye contact with each other for what felt like an eternity, until Yunjin groaned and looked away.
"Fuck- Fine! Fine, you can come with me, but you must stay by my side, do you hear me?" Yunjin demanded.
Chaewon gave her a courteous nod.

After lacing up her black combat boots, Yunjin stood up and turned to face Chaewon, who just walked up to her.
"Are you ready?" Yunjin asked. There was determination in the depth of her pitch black eyes, and you could tell that she was ready to wreak havoc just to save you.
Chaewon looked at her with a serious expression. "More than. Let's go."
Yunjin had already explained to her how they were going to get to you; teleportation stone. The demigod had been storing it for an emergency, and now seemed as good a time as any to use it. Your life is on the line.
Chaewon stepped closer to Yunjin and grasped the older's hand tightly, before shutting her eyes.
In the blink of an eye, there was a bright flash, a rush of cold air and adrenaline, and then dead silence.
Yunjin and Chaewon both opened their eyes, and were met with a dark room. They looked around and examined the dismal space. There were chains hanging from the ceiling, and there was water dripping from some areas too. There was a pungent smell in the freezing air too.
When their eyes fell on a figure slumped in a chair with their hands tied to the arms, their eyes widened. It was you. They couldn't see your face, but your body was exposed due to the thin shorts and tank top you were wearing, and there were visible bruises littered all over your skin.
As much as Yunjin wanted nothing more than to rush to you and free you, she had to be cautious.
She turned to Chaewon. "I need you to be completely still." Chaewon listened.
Yunjin closed her eyes and focused on her senses, searching for any noises other than them around the room. She didn't hear anything alarming, nor did she smell anything suspicious, other than the faint, lingering scent of the man who did this.
Focusing a little bit more energy into herself, Yunjin was now able to think more clearly, and closed her eyes to see if she could detect any form of foul play around the dim room. She found none.
This man has always been stupid, so there was no surprise there.
Yunjin opened her eyes. "Chaewon, follow me and stay close."
Slowly and cautiously, the two of them began to walk towards you. Yunjin's eyes never left your battered body. Just looking at you and thinking of what he did to you-what he could've done to you that she doesn't know of-sent waves of anger and anguish crashing over her like suffocating ocean water.
When they finally reached you, Yunjin crouched down before you and cupped your cheeks, tapping them gently.
"Y/N. Baby, wake up." She called out.
While Yunjin was trying to wake you, Chaewon was crying as she worked to untie your hands. When she finally did, she immediately took hold of your hand and caressed it with her thumb.
Yunjin continued to shake and tap you, repeatedly calling out your name until your eyes finally fluttered open.
"Oh, thank God!" The demigod cried out.
You weakly lifted your head. Your eyes widened when you saw Yunjin on her knees in front of you and Chaewon standing beside you.
You couldn't help the tears that instantly built up in your swollen, exhausted eyes. Your body felt like it was on fire, and you surely were too scared to even look at the damage that was done to you, and you felt drained of energy. The situation couldn't get any worse, you feel like. You were so frightened when you were taken from your home by an incredibly strong man whom you didn't know, and even more so when you were tied down to a chair in this scary room and beaten until you were bloody and battered and unable to keep your eyes open.
So to see Yunjin and Chaewon here to rescue you, you were hit by a rush of relief.
You desperately reached out for Yunjin, who immediately brought you into her arms and lifted you up bridal style. As soon as you were secure in her hold, she leaned in to press a lingering kiss to your forehead. You nearly lost it when you felt the love and fear behind the action.
Yunjin looked down at you with glassy eyes. "I'm so sorry that this happened-so sorry. Everything will be okay soon, baby girl. I promise." She whispered to you. She pressed a quick kiss to your lips, grimacing when she felt the deep cut in your bottom lip.
You didn't respond. Instead, you just nodded sluggishly. After that, you were handed over to Chaewon, who let out a breath of relief once you were in her arms.
All of you turned your heads to look across the room when you heard footsteps. Seemingly emerging from the shadows, a man now stood tall and proud, gazing at you all with a menacing look in his eyes. A shiver was sent down your spine at just the sight of him.
Yunjin seemed to become furious after just looking at him, seeing as she rolled up her sleeves and stepped forward. But before she went any further, she spoke up, directing her words at Chaewon.
"She doesn't need to see this." That was enough for Chaewon to quickly take you to a far corner of the room and carefully set you down on the floor. She placed her hands on the wall above you and blocked your view of the scene with her body.
And then you heard loud grunts and hisses break the tense silence.
Chaewon began to think of ways to distract you.
"I was so worried about you. God, I feel terrible that I couldn't do more to protect you and stop that man from taking you. I'm so sorry." She said. Your tired eyes softened at the sight of tears glossing over her eyes, threatening to fall. You watched as she swallowed thickly and tried to blink the tears away, only for a few to roll down her cheeks anyway. One fell onto your cheek.
"Chae," You called out. You paused when you heard a loud noise-it sounded like concrete breaking and crumbling. You shut your eyes, took a deep breath (even though it hurt your chest), and then focused back on Chaewon.
You looked into her eyes as you spoke. "It's okay, really. It wasn't your fault. This man- This man isn't a human. There was no way you could've prevented this from happening, so don't beat yourself up over it. I-"
You were interrupted by a loud thud. And then there was silence.
Chaewon twisted around to see what happened, and when she did, she was shocked. The man was no longer in the room, and Yunjin was standing still in the center, breathing heavily.
"Unnie!" Chaewon called out. Her voice came out hesitant as she slowly removed her arms from over you.
Before Chaewon could react, you were already on your feet and running Yunjin. Your legs were so close to giving out, but you pushed through the pain and were immediately by her side. Just in time too, seeing as she collapsed, and you just barely managed to catch her body.
The two of you crashed to the ground, making you tighten your grip on her.
Chaewon ran to you and crouched down beside you. "Are you two okay?" She asked frantically.
You nodded and then looked down at Yunjin, who did the same. She wore a tired smile. "I did it." She mumbled weakly.
Tears brimmed your eyes as you mirrored her action and leaned down. You captured her lips in a languid kiss, simply savoring the moment. You had greatly missed her and Chaewon in the few hours that you had been taken, and you couldn't be more happy to be with them again.
When you parted for air, you released a breathy chuckle and pecked her lips one last time before closing your eyes.
"I love you, Neaera." You whispered. Chaewon smiled at the cute moment you and Yunjin were sharing.
The demigod laughed and pulled you in for another kiss. "I love you too, baby girl."
