Ilavarasi searched throughout the temple but could not find both. The same lady who informed them that the boys were fighting came there and said they were outside the temple.

She sent that lady and left the temple and searched around only to find the boys at a distance. She sighed before walking to them but frowned when they were happily playing unlike the lady who said.
Even Though she was relieved that they were not fighting she was mad that they left the temple alone and played on an unsafe road.
Just when she was about to go get them, screw their ears and bring them back she noticed an unusual truck on the road rashly driving towards the boys.
Her heart stopped beating for a second in panic before she bought up herself and ran towards them. The boys were not aware of anything and ran around carelessly. When both she and the truck neared them Ajay ran across the road while Maran who chased him found the truck and stood there in a panic without moving. Just in time when the truck was about to hit him Ilavarasi pushed him to the other side of the road where Ajay stood in fear looking at the happening.
When Maran was back to senses and got up from the place where he was pushed, he was only shocked to see Ilavarasi covered with a pool of her own blood and Ajay who was crying next to her. He stood there rooted to the ground while tears found its way down his cheeks before he ran into the temple.
He ran to Rajavel who was serving food and burst out in tears hugging his legs. Everyone panicked seeing him cry like that while Elango who stood there lifted him and tried to convince him but he was just sobbing showing the way to get out of the temple.
Elango: ethuku Maran alara.. enna aachu..
Yamuna: avungaluku enna anna Vela.. Ajay uh avunu sanda potu irunthanga.. athuku tha alaran.. dei athai ungala samathanam pana vanthala enga da..
Maran: Am.. ma.. Ath.. ai..

Maran: Athai... lorry.. athai.. ratham..
He blabber to make them understand, he was too little to speak clearly after seeing such a terrible scene.
Yamuna: Ratham ah..
Everyone panicked with his words and noticed him pointing outside and everyone ran out only to have their worlds shattered.
They found Ilavarasi on the floor trying to keep herself conscious while caressing Ajay's hair who was crying and trying to wake her up.
Everyone ran to her and Rajavel lifted her to his lap.
Rajavel: thangom enna da aachu?
Ajay: Mama... Lorry Amma.. adichu.. he said crying uncontrollably making others break down.
Rajavel quickly asked Moorthy to bring a vehicle and they took her to the hospital. Throughout the time she held Rajavel and Elango's hand and kept murmuring something. Rajavel and Elango kept talking to her to keep her in consciousness.

Rajavel and Elango looked at each other and tears kept flowing down their eyes.

Elango wiped his tears: Anna seekram ponga.. he said to the driver.
Ilavarasi: vidunga methuva pogatum... ponalum entha use ilanga..
Elango: yen ma ipadi ella pesara.. unaku onu agathu..
Ilavarasi: enaku.. theriyatha..
Rajavel: Thangom.. konja pesama va.. unaku onum agathu.. Anna unaku ethuvum aga vida matan..
Ilavarasi smiled: nee nambala naalu... athu tha unma.. atha.. vidu.. Yenga Ajay... Maran yum pathukonga..
Elango: ipadi ella pesatha Ma..
Ilavarasi: anna un kita solava Venda.. ana en pasangala pathuka..
Rajavel was on the verge of Breaking down before the driver announced they reached the hospital and they carried Ilavarasi out of the car and ran towards the emergency ward.
From that point everything looked like a time lapse. The doctor started treating her while all the others waited impatiently in hope of getting their happiness back.
After half an hour the doctor came and announced the thing that they would never want to hear. Ilavarasi was counting her last minutes and the Doctor asked to spend the final time if they needed to.
Ilavarasi laid on the bed with an oxygen mask when everyone left inside the room. Ilavarasi's eyes automatically looked at Maran and Ajay who were sobbing to make sure they were safe.
She asked Maran, Ajay, Kathir and Aadhavan to come near and caressed their hair as they stood there sobbing.
She looked up at Maya who was in Yamuna's arms and signaled Yamuna who held Maya near her as she kissed her temple.
Rajavel stood at a distance staring at her with a fearful face while Elango broke near her feet.
Yamuna yelled when ilavarasi ' monitor started dropping and she started losing consciousness.
The doctor ran in and sent them out before giving a final try to save her.
Unfortunately after a few minutes, the family was given the most devastating news of her demise that shattered their whole world.
Everyone broke down in a way that even the others in the hospital peti for them.
Rajavel turned rigid the moment he heard the news , the sorrow was more to take that even tears to fail him.
After the formalities, they left home and completed all the rituals.
Aruanchalam and Rajavel did all the rituals but Rajavel was still rigid with no expression.
No one could find what was running in his mind. All knew what Ilavarasi meant for him and how much he could have been affected by demise. They were scared to see him with no reaction even after her demise. He never talked to anyone or barely had anything.
After the 5th day ritual, Yamuna was into labour and Surya was born giving some smiles in the terrible situation. But Rajavel who had always yearned for a girl child was not in a place to feel his happiness.
After a week, Yamuna brought Maya and Surya to feed them in their room and found Rajavel sitting on the floor near the bed. She slowly moved towards him and placed Surya on the cradle as she was asleep. She sat near him on the bed still cradling Maya in her arms and caressed his head. He looked up at her and Maya before he looked down.
He stayed silent until Maya's little feet started kicking him in his temple. He looked at her before looking at Yamuna and broke down crying holding her little feet to his forehead.
Yamuna's eyes teared up as he cried his heart out and she kept caressing his hair to comfort him.
Yamuna: pothum ga..
Rajavel: en thangatha ennala kapatha mudilaya ma..
Yamuna: neenga ena ga paninga.. Ella nama thala eluthu...
Rajavel: illa ma na avala kapathu irukanum.. thappu panitan..

Yamuna: Ava amma mari avulum Amma illama tha valaranum nu vidhichu iruku pola... ana nan avala vitra matan ga.. Ajay yum seri ivalayum.. seri enaikum ah vitra matan ga..
Rajavel stared at her before getting Maya from her and kissing her forehead before lying on Yamuna's lap who caressed his hair.

Maya stared at her mother's photo not minding to wipe off her tears that kept flowing down her cheeks. Yamuna noticed her shaking and hugged her before Maya hugged her back and broke down in tears. Yamuna let her be in her arms and patted her back until she somewhat composed and moved away.
Yamuna: ithuku tha da nanga ethum ah solala..
Maya: illa athai I'm ok...
She took a deep breath and stayed silent for a few seconds.
Maya: Yen athai amma eranthathu accident thena.. athukum mama ku enna samanthom... Appa uh Thatha uh yen mama mela kovam ah irukanga..
Yamuna: Nangalum romba varusham accident than da ninachom.. Ana un anjavathu vathu porantha naal anaiku tha ellama maruchu..

After all the rituals were completed, Elango was ready to leave for his house in the nearby village where he and Ilavarasi lived. But due to their completion he stayed back as it would be easy for him to take care of the kids.
Days started passing quickly, Yamuna took care of Maya and Surya and the other kids with the help of Suganthi. She always treated Ajay and Maya as her own kids and never showed any difference.
Everything was turning smooth except Rajavel's and Ajay's change over. Rajavel started avoiding violence and even reduced his involvement in public matters.
Ajay was still not out of the scene that was forever registered in his mind , he would sometimes just sit and stare at his mother's photo or wake up in the middle of the night screaming for his mother. He even stopped speaking to Maran and started showing hate which was a question mark for others.
The happiness was somewhat refilling but still with a void until it once again broke apart on Maya's fifth birthday.
The house was finally settled after the birthday celebration when Elango, who left the house after an urgent job, marched into the house with anger.
Yamuna: Anna enna aachu.. yen ivalo kovam ah varinga?
Elango: En pasanga enga?... He asked without looking at her.
Yamuna: anna aachu anna?
Elango: en pasanga enga? He asked in a more stern voice.
Yamuna: Maya mela thoongita.. Ajay Akhil aadhavan kuda vilayatitu irunthan..
Elango wordlessly walked upstairs and returned back with Maya who was asleep on his shoulders and luggage before he searched for Ajay and once he found him he dragged him and tried to leave the house.
Suganthi: anna Thoongara pullaiya eduthutu enga poringa.. athuvum luggage oda..
Arunachalam: Elango enna pa enna aachu.. yen luggage oda nikara... He walked out of his room and questioned.
Elango: Nan poran mama..
Yamuna: enga anna poringa.. mothala enna nadanthuchu ethuku kovam ah irukinga nu solunga..
Elango: Ethuvum illa.. nan Inga romba naal thangitan.. ithuku mela iruka kudathu... na kelambaran..
Rajavel: ithu unga veedu.. neenga Inga iruka kudathunu yaru sona...
Elango saw him walking to them from upstairs just for a second before he looked away.
Elango: ithu yen veedu illa... neenga ella keta nala tha na Inga iruntha.. ana ini Inga iruka mudiyathu...
Rajavel: Atha yen... mothala neenga pilaya kudunga.. pavam thoongara kolanthaiya thookitu vanthu..
He tried to lift Maya but Elango stopped him and hold Maya tighter.
Rajavel: enna aachu Machan ungaluku yen ipadi nadanthu karinga?

He yelled in frustration shocking everyone except Rajavel who looked down with guilt.

All were confused but were shocked to see Rajavel staying silently without any objection as if he was accepting.

He questioned but only silence and tears was the reply he got.
Arunachalam and the others somehow understood whatever Elango said was truth and that was hard to accept.

Rajavel shook his head in denial.

He said with tear filled eyes bringing tears in everyone's eyes. Yamuna just then started realising things ,first the lady who came to them on the day of the accident was new to them, and second she first called Yamuna but just out of ilavarasi 's completion she stayed back.
Arunachalam shivered a little with the revelation as he walked to Rajavel and slapped him without a second thought shocking the whole family.

He asked him to follow and started walking out but stopped when Arunachalam asked him too.

Elango turned to him questioningly.

Aruanchalam: inoru thadava enna apdi kupdatha.. Nee ella epavum ah thiruntha mata... unaku eduthu soli soli.. enaku aluthu pochu.. ithu mela entha puriyojanam uh illa... nan Inga iruntha un mogatha pakara apa Ella.. He said and dragging Ajay with him he walked out of the house while Elango followed him. Both left the house paying no heed to others who followed them until the end of the street.
