I'm going to Charleston, South Carolina. I am playing Evangeline or Lina Rosenberg. It's a great opportunity and I'm so happy to be given this chance to come and act. I've been on two shows before this, but not exactly associated with Netflix.
What's super cool is that my family is actually from South Carolina, about 10 minutes away from Charleston, so I just say I'm from Charleston. And I might be able to see my family which is definitely awesome since I've been out in LA for a long time. And with work it's always questionable about when I'll be able to come visit them.
We have a table read where we're meeting everyone. So I'm a little bit nervous, but overall I think it will be good. I have done this in the past, so I'm not as nervous as I used to be. I just came off of Once Upon A Time. It's going to be an interesting change from playing Olive to playing Lina. But one thing I know, is that I'm going to have a blast no matter what.
When I arrived I immediately started connecting to everybody who is apart of the show. They are truly fantastic people. There are a few of the cast members that I recognize and a few that I don't. But that's the nice part of being apart of a cast.
We started filming about 2 weeks later after some training. It's completely amazing being apart of such a good cast. Action is called and I being walking, it's in the middle of a storm. And I am going to be taking cover. " Of course, the one time I have to go to this idiotic side, " I mutter. A car pulls up to me, and rolls down the window to see Austin or Topper. " Topper leave me alone, " I add.
" Get in the car Evangeline, you're going to catch a cold or worst, " he tells me.
" Topper why do you even care about my safety? " I ask him, he puts the car in front of me and leans over and opens the passenger door.
" Get in the car Evangeline, " he states. I stand there looking at him. " If my mom finds out I left you in the rain she would kill me. Now please get in the damn car, " he adds.
" I don't own you any favors. I hope you know that, " I tell him while getting in the car.
" Yeah of course, " he comments. Cut is called and we move onto the next scene. Austin and I begin to talk to each other. He's a very sweet guy, and attractive but I'm trying not to get ahead of myself. I try not to mix relationships and work, but that doesn't always happen.
" Have they told you anything about their relationship? " He asks me, I shake my head.
" No, they told me they had history. But they never told me any specific details. From what I collected they've at least kissed before the series started, " I comment, which causes him to nod towards me.
" I just wanted to get this out of the way. But you did awesome as Olive in Once Upon A Time, it's absolutely amazing, " he tells me, which causes me to chuckle.
" Thank you, your Disney days was pretty fun to watch, " I tell him, which causes him to chuckle. " My little sisters love Disney, " I add, he smiles towards me again.
We get ready for the next scene and action is called. " You missed my turn, " I comment, which causes me to just continue driving.
" You can't stay there tonight, plus my mom wanted me home 20 minutes ago. You'll have to stay with me, " he comments.
" Oh great... all my wishes have come true, " I comment sarcastically, which he just scoffs at my comment.
" Hey it's not ideal for me either, but for some reason our moms respect each other, so I have to decently respect you, " he states.
" Oh yeah and you always do such a good job at respecting me, " I snap which causes him to stop the car. Making me hit the dashboard in front of me. " Ow! " I scream towards him.
" I respect you, " he states.
" You legit just slammed my head into your dashboard. Really? You respect me? " I ask him, which causes him to sigh.
" Touché, my point is that I hope you know. I do respect you, even if I don't show it okay? " He asks me, I nod towards him.
" You hate me though, because I'm not rich like how you are. And everything that's in between, so yes you may respect me, but you don't like me. It's the benefit of your mother and my mom are friends, and they respect each other highly, " I comment, he nods towards me.
We finish the scene and watch as the others start doing their scenes. Austin and I continue talking and having good conversations. He's truly a really good guy. And I'm happy I got the chance to be apart of this amazing opportunity.
Throughout the filming and into the post production, Austin and I got close. I mean I got close with everybody, but I would have to say him and I got close in a different way. More... romanticized way I guess. Fans instating started shipping us, once they saw how we acted with one another. And once our scenes emerged. They all loved the idea of Topper and Evangeline being together. And they also loved the idea of Austin and I being together as well.
We've made jokes about it, but that's just because of who him and I are. We're always being asked if we're together, and we always say the same thing. 'No, we're just friends.'
Now we're about to start filming season 3, and I am overly excited. I've been told a little bit about season 3 for Evangeline, and truly I think it's going to be a good storyline. At the end of season 2 it was shown that when Topper is looking out into the ocean Evangeline is on his back, and she's talking to him.
Which kinda shows that the two of them are getting closer. She was placed in the hospital at the end of season 2, because she saved JJ from being ran over by a car.
" JJ! No! " Evangeline screams running towards him and pushing him out of the way. Being hit by the car in the process.
" NO! LINA! NO! " Kie screams towards her. She's flown down the road, and all of the Pogues run down to her.
" Lina wake up! Wake up! " JJ screams towards her. " Why did you do this?! " He screams towards her. JJ started running after the car, but the car just sped off. " You're going to pay you dick! " He screams.
" JJ we have to get her to the hospital! " Pope screams at him.
It was an intense screen, and there were a lot of sad scenes that followed. Pretty much everyone had a hear to heart to her, and it was saddening. Those were some of the easiest days, because all I had to do was lay in a hospital bed.
" With season 3 just being announced what do you think is going to happen with Topper and her? " Clare asks me.
" Honestly I have no idea, I think it will be an interesting plot line if they want to go down that route. Kinda having it in an idea that they will know more about their relationship. I think it would be an interesting path to go down, but I'm also saying that because I love being able to work with Austin he's fantastic to work with, " I tell her.
" Will we find out how she's doing? " She asks.
" I would hope so, I do think that's definitely an option that will be pushed into, " I tell her, she just smiles towards me.
Austin's P.O.V.
" So you're telling me that you've had a crush on this girl since you started Outer Banks, and you never have told her? " Jonah asks me, I just groan nodding my head.
" Why haven't you told her that you like her? " Corbyn asks me, I just shrug.
" I don't want to ruin my friendship with her, her and I are very close. And I don't want to ruin it okay? She's a good friend of mine, and I'm not trying to get feelings involved, " I tell them, which causes them to chuckle.
" Trust me, I see the way she acts with you. There's feelings already involved, " Jonah tells me, which causes me to just shake my head towards him. There can't be, she-she doesn't like me like that. Season 3 is about to start, and maybe her and I... well our characters will get closer maybe. I probably do need to tell her, but I'm not trying to push it. She's deserves the best, and I'm not the best. She deserves someone way better than me.
" Stop overthinking it, just get closer to her. Try to find out if she actually likes you or not. Because I promise you, she does, " Corbyn tells me, I give him a nod.
And just like that here we are getting ready for the first scene. We aren't actually going to see the Pogue gang for like a month. They're filming somewhere else. " Topper good to see you, she's in the room like usual, " I give the 'nurse' a nod and walk into the room to see her sitting by the window.
" Hey, brought you something to drink, " I tell her, she turns to me and lightly smiles. Her face is beaten up, and she's in a wheelchair due to her legs being 'broken'.
" Thanks, " she whispers taking a hold of it. " You know you don't have to visit me every day, I've been in here for 2 weeks, " she adds.
" I want... I want too, make sure you're okay and everything, " I tell her, she chuckles lightly drinking some of her drink. " Have you got any news? " I ask, she slowly shakes her head.
" Doctors say that I am lucky to be alive, and impact should have killed me. They're still trying to find out who did it, only problem the only witnesses are now missing so, they're kinda stuck, " she comments with defeat laced in her voice. I slowly with hesitation place my hand on hers, and she turns to me and lightly smiles.
" How's your mom taking it? " I ask, she looks out in the ocean and sighs.
" She's okay... she was worried I had died. And with how expensive it will be, just trying to figure out how to pay for it all, " she states, I give her a nod. " I don't want to be your charity case Topper, " she whispers looking at me. I move closer to her wiping away the tear that had fallen.
" You're not, I promise you. You-you're far from it, " I stutter. I had moved closer so it looks like we're about to kiss. Someone knocks on the door and we separate.
" We got to do your meds for the day, " the 'nurse' says, she nods towards her. And I help her up and we move her back to the bed.
Cut is called and I help Y/n up from the bed. We start talking and catching up with one another. " I saw you went to that Drake concert how was that? " She asks.
" It was good, you should have come with me. It would have been fun, " I tell her, she nods towards me.
" This might seem weird and out of the blue, but do you want to get dinner some time this week? Just... just the two of us? " She asks, I look at her in complete shock. " Are you alright Austin? " She asks.
" Sorry... yeah I would love to go on a date-I mean dinner, dinner with you, " I tell her going into a full panic. She chuckles lights looking at the ocean and then back at me.
" It's a date then, I need to go. Talk to you later? " She asks, I give her a nod.
" Yeah talk to you later... it's a date, " I comment, she smiles lightly towards me.
It's a date, that was the first date of many. And if you're wondering, yes I got a big I told you so from Jonah about the whole situation.
