treasure's middle line meeting your grownups
a/n — i resorted to using grownups since ik that not all of you may have parents, and even if you do, there is the possibility of them being your adoptive/foster/step parents. or if you are like me and have an on/off relationship with them that you don't even want to call them your parents :')
i still used a bit of mother/father here and there, so i'm sorry about that if it made you uncomfortable.

🐹 i feel like mashi would be the first to bring up meeting your grownups
🐹 he accidentally heard a conversation with your grownups, where you were making various excuses before you confined you didn't want to force him to anything
🐹 knowing that, mashiho felt touched, so he took the next step, readying himself as he asked to meet your grownups
🐹 you were shocked at first bc this wasn't like him
🐹 but nevertheless, you agreed, finding the timing perfect as you planned a lunch over the weekend when the two of you were free
🐹 like jihoon, mashi would play it cool too until you held his hands and realised he was nervous than he let on
🐹 "my grownups are going to love you, mashi ... and i have never been so sure of anything my whole life."
🐹 your words were assuring enough, and mashiho confidently walked to the house, never letting go of your hand
🐹 the only times he let go was to greet your grownups and offer help with the lunch
🐹 other than that manz held on to your hand really tightly

🐹 your grownups definitely noticed the gesture — along with the heart-eyes you two gave each other whenever the other was talking
🐹 when mashiho left to help your mother, you turned to your father, resting your face on your palm as you wiggled your brows, wordlessly asking for his opinion
🐹 he simply gave a 'thumbs up' but to you, that was more than enough — because in your father's words, it was a big compliment
🐹 seeing your mother and mashiho laugh in the kitchen, you figured it was a 'yes' from her as well
🐹 mashiho was all smiles after the lunch, insisting on staying longer as he listened to the stories your grownups told while sharing his own as well

🦁 jaehyuk is such a family man you can't tell me otherwise
🦁 the way he's good with kids and even if they don't like him, he tries his best to get them to like him
🦁 LIKE THAT BABYSITTING T-MAP EP WHERE HE TRIED BRIBING THE KIDS WITH DRINKS OOMPH whatta man
🦁 and he has such polite speech like you can't tell me he's not a hit amongst the grownups
🦁 *flashback to that iksan episode where he went inside the store a 19-year-old single dude and came out being the son-in-law of a lady who was in the store*
🦁 ANYGAYS THAT'S NOT THE POINT
🦁 your family lived ... let's say in another country ... so meeting them was not something that would happen frequently
🦁 jaehyuk and you had been together for a long time, and you frequented his house — but he couldn't do the same with you
🦁 and this ray of sunshine knew you probably missed your family too, so he'd definitely be the one to bring up the conversation
🦁 "get two weeks off, we are going to meet your family!" he'd say, and you'd think he was joking at first, until you realised he was being serious
🦁 fast forward to meeting your family, you felt like a stranger with the way jaehyuk was clicking well with everyone
🦁 you felt like you were meeting his family and not yours — but you weren't complaining one bit
🦁 just one second ago he was playing football with your siblings and suddenly he was in the living room with your grownups, going through your baby pictures
🦁 "my parents would love to meet you two. you guys would click really well." he'd say, thinking for a few seconds before video-calling his parents, introducing them to yours
🦁 AND IT WASN'T EVEN AN ENTIRE 24 HOURS SINCE YOU GUYS ARRIVED
🦁 he was just so excited to finally meet your family, and it was clearly visible to everyone
🦁 and lucky for you, they all loved him to bits — just like he loved you

🤖 it all started with you two meeting his family in japan first
🤖 you had a fun time there, so naturally when you two came back, asahi was feeling a little homesick
🤖 he missed his family, especially his sister — but you didn't know what to do about it
🤖 "hey, maybe we should visit your family too. it's only fair since you met mine." he suggested out of blue
🤖 tbh you had been considering the option, but you didn't think it was nice to tell a homesick asahi to go meet your family when he was missing his
🤖 but in asahi's mind, surrounding himself with your family might help him feel better about missing his family japan — in fact since your family was closer, maybe visiting them often would help with homesickness
🤖 when the two of you went to the dinner — like you had expected — asahi was awkwardly quiet, only speaking when spoken to and zoning out most of the time
🤖 and you had expected this obv, so you initiated your plan
🤖 "sahi, my siblings and cousins are in the garden. would you like to see them?" you suggested, knowing he wouldn't say no to being with kids
🤖 asahi nodded to enthusiastically before running to the garden while you stayed back with the other grownups in the living room
🤖 "he doesn't talk much, huh?" they asked, not really knowing whether to like him bc asahi didn't give them much to deal with
🤖 "just give him some time." you explained the situation to them, worried if his homesickness will only get worse with this visit
🤖 that was until you heard a burst of laughter coming from the garden, making you let out a sigh of relief bc your plan was working
🤖 AND THANK GOD FOR THAT
🤖 you and the grownups stood at the door, watching asahi excitedly play with all the kids — especially your little sister who was the same age as asahi's sister
🤖 "that's a whole new man." the grownups joked, but you could only have a relieved smile on your face, glad asahi was feeling better
🤖 "you are really in love, huh? can't blame you though, he looks like he's going to be an amazing father. hope this isn't just a short-term thing, yeah?" your mother spoke a little too loudly, gaining asahi's attention as he walked towards you with your sister
🤖 "don't worry, i picture growing old together with y/n."
🤖 *screams* if you felt more whipped for asahi after this reaction then scream with me *screaming intensifies*

BANG YEDAM
🦊 yedam would be sure to do his homework when it came to your grownups
🦊 "so what are your grownups like?" he'd ask, holding a notepad in his hands as he wrote literally every single thing you said
🦊 he really wanted things to go well, and he'd do his best to make sure you didn't have to worry about him or anything
🦊 on the day of the lunch, yedam brought both of them a flower bouquet and a chocolate box
🦊 which was new ... bc it was amusing to see your father react to receiving flowers and chocolates
🦊 your father might've teared up a little since it was his first time receiving flowers from someone
🦊 "well, i didn't want to do the usual thing and buy you a wine bottle or something. besides, y/n told me you enjoyed gardening and flowers, so i got you flowers. and the chocolates can be considered a bribe to accept me."
🦊 yedam was joking around like he had known your family for years and you were glad he felt that way
🦊 but what yedam didn't know was that just like he had done his homework on your parents, they had done the same on him
🦊 after hours and hours on the phone with you, they compiled a list of his likes and dislikes, wanting their child's boyfriend to like them as much as they liked him
🦊 "yedam-ah, y/n said you liked contemporary arts. there's an exhibition next week, if you are interested." your father suggested, getting a wide-eyed look from yedam
🦊 "i wanted to go to that exhibition so bad! but y/n didn't have the time so i didn't want to go alone. would you ... like to come with?"
🦊 they were like little kindergartners trying to make friends with each other
🦊 and you were enjoying every second of their interaction
🦊 "y/n said you liked chocolate cornets too. there's a nice bakery near the exhibition, maybe we can check that out too!" your mother joined in on the excitement, sending a round of cheers around the room
🦊 your grownups absolutely loved yedam and you could see that he loved them too
🦊 and there wasn't anything else you could've asked for
