The 'death' of Fred Weasley was too hard for the young lover. So she did what many wizards did during the war, she casted a spell so she would never remember him again. The memory charm. After it happened she didn't remember him, she didn't remember the Weasleys. She barely remembers Hermione and Harry. He time spent at Hogwarts her memories now were filled with Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Seamus Finnigan, and Dean Thomas. It was too hard for her to live knowing that the love of her life was not walking the Earth anymore. But what she didn't know, was he wasn't actually dead.
5 years after the Wizarding War....
Hermione's P.O.V.
Fred was in complete shock, and I didn't truly understand why. All of us were at the shop due to getting supplies for something. I'm not sure why. " Fred you alright? " George asks.
" Do you see who I'm seeing? " He asks, we all look in the direction that he was looking in. We look to see Y/n standing with Luna and Neville and they're just chatting about something.
" Do you guys see what I see? " I ask, they look at me and then back again. Them realizing she's holding a kid. Luna and Neville walks into the store while she stays outside.
" Luna, " Harry says, she turns to us and walks forward. Neville following shortly behind.
" Harry good to see you, " she says smiling.
" Y/n? " Fred asks. The two put their heads down.
" Fred she's not the same, " Neville says.
" What happened? " George asks.
" She got someone to alter her memories of you, and that caused the memories of your family to disappear as well. She barely remembers Hermione and Harry, " Neville says.
" Why? " Fred asks.
" Fred in her eyes you died in her arms, she couldn't handle the pain of knowing the love of her life was dead, so she got someone to have it to where the love of her life didn't even exist, " he tells us. The door opens, and Y/n walks in.
" Y/n! " Neville yells, Y/n walks over.
" These are the people we were talking about, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, George and Fred Weasley, " Luna says.
" Oh hi, it's so nice to meet you. I've heard a lot of stories, " she says smiling reaching out her hand. We all shake her hand in pure shock.
" And who's this? " I ask.
" This is my daughter Ivana, you want to say hi? " She asks.
" Hi, " she whispers.
" Ivana just turned 4 today, so we're out celebrating, " Luna comments.
" 4 huh? What's your favorite color? " Harry asks.
" Purple, " she tells us.
" They-you guys look familiar, did they go to Hogwarts? " Y/n asks Neville.
" Yes they did, since you were in Ravenclaw you didn't hang out with them as much, " Luna says.
" Oh okay, I knew you guys faces looked familiar, " she says.
" How does she have red hair? " Fred asks, she makes eye contact with him then looks at Ivana.
" I honestly don't know, I don't remember who her father is. So maybe she got it from him, but I'm not sure, " she comments. He nods towards her. " Well it was nice meeting you all, but Ivana wants to go see her grandparents so we're going to head out. Neville, Luna I'll see you tonight. Nice meeting all of you guys, " she adds.
" It was nice meeting you as well, " I tell her. She walks away, and George grabs a hold of Fred as he begins to break down.
" She-she doesn't remember me, " he cries. We all hold onto him, as he cries.
" Who did the spell on her? " I ask.
" We're not sure, we are still trying to figure that out. But it has to be someone she's still in contact with, " Luna says. " We have a hunch for who we think, " she adds.
" And who do you think did it? " George asks.
" McGonagall, " Neville says. " She still works there, I can get you guys in. Y/n she teaches Charms at Hogwarts, if she didn't she most likely knows who did, " he adds.
Y/n's P.O.V.
" Okay that's it for today, please make sure to study for our test! " I say as the kids begin to pile out of the room.
" Hi Professor Longbottom! " Some of the kids cheer, which causes me to chuckle.
" Any explosions? " I ask him.
" Nope, one kid did pass out through, " he comments chuckling. A knock is on the door, and we turn to see McGonagall.
" Hi how are you doing today? " I ask her.
" I'm doing good, Mr. Longbottom I need you in my office, " she says. He walks out leaving me in my classroom, I begin erasing today's learnings.
" Your students must really love being able to hang out with your daughter, " I hear someone say I turn around to see Fred. A friend of Neville and Luna.
" Yes they do, a lot of them love being able to hang out with her, " I tell him. " Now can I ask you Mr. Weasley why you are here? " I ask.
" McGonagall wants some of the witches and wizards who fought in the battle of Hogwarts to come and speak, " he tells me.
" Oh yes, I was newly pregnant with my daughter when the war happened, " I tell him, he steps into my classroom and closes the door. " But I barely remember the war, so she usually doesn't get me to speak, " I add.
" Her father died in the war didn't he? " He asks, I drop the eraser and look at him.
" Mr. Weasley, I think you should leave, " I tell him. I walk forward towards the door, and he grabs a hold of me. " How do you know that? " I ask.
" Please remember me, I'm him, " he whispers.
" Fred, " I mutter. He looks at me. " You seem like a lovely man, but I have no idea what you're talking about, " I add.
" Y/n, please.... please remember me, I miss you, I love you, " he states.
" How can you miss me or love me? I haven't even met you once in my life, " I tell him. He grabs a hold of my face pulling him in towards him. He leans in and kisses me, and I don't know why but I begin to kiss back. He seemed familiar, I've kissed these lips before.
" Y/n! " I hear someone scream, it's the middle of the battle of HogWarts. I turn to see him running towards me.
" I love you okay, " he says grabbing a hold me and kisses me. Before I could say it back, he ran off.
My memory changes.
" Fred?! " I scream running forward. " Fred! " I scream again as I see him laying on the ground. I grab a hold of him, and he rest his head in my lap. " Hey it's alright, I can- I can fix this I can try to come up with a spell okay. You're going to be okay, you're going to be okay. I can't lose you, " I add. His hand moves up and wipes away my tears.
" I'm not going to make it, but just please live your life okay? " He asks.
" Fred... " I begin. " Please don't leave me, I need you in my life, " I add. He closes his. " Fred! " I scream.
I back away from him running into the cabinet. " You- you died in my arms, and I didn't say it back. You died in my arms! I watched you die! " I scream. I hear the door open, and Neville and McGonagall run in. " What is happening to me? " I ask her.
" You're remembering, you had your memories altered right after the war. After he supposedly died in your arms, that's why you don't remember a lot from your years here or the war, because they were filled with memories of him, " McGonagall tells me.
" I don't understand, " I mutter. Neville helps me sit down.
" She's going to be out of it for a while, she's retracing about 15 years of memory. But eventually she will remember everything, " McGonagall states.
" You died in my arms, " I whisper. " I was- Fred, " I add looking up at him.
" Yes? " He asks.
" I was going to tell you that day I was pregnant. I was going to tell you that we were going to have a kid. And I never said it back when you said it to me, and I then watched you die in my arms, so how are you still here? " I ask beginning to cry.
" Protection, I don't know the exact reasons of why.... but-but what I do know is that I wanted you back, " he whispers.
" Memory charm, I-I got her to put a memory charm on me, " I tell him. He nods. " Ivana, you- you need to meet Ivana, " I add.
" That can wait for another day, my main concern is you being okay. I'm alive, I'm well, and I never stopped loving you, " he tells me. I get up, and walk towards him and kiss him.
" I never stopped loving you either, it was just lost, " I tell him.
He did meet Ivana, and we started our relationship. I probably shouldn't do memory charms anymore, I need to be able to handle my problems head on, and now that I have him by my side it will be easier to handle.
