Your POV

It was early in the morning and I was downstairs talking to my sister about last night. She was happy for me and shoving it in my face that she had been right all along and I couldn't help but laugh every time. I still had an hour before I had to go and pick up Lauren. It was now a relief to be with Lauren without worrying about one of us going after someone else because the truth is she was all I wanted and she was all that I was going to have.

"Y/N! Lauren's outside." That's weird, she usually just waits for me till I go over and get her. "Alright thanks grandma." I got up from the kitchen table and made my way outside to the front porch. "Hey Lauren, whats up?" she turned around and came towards me engulfing me in a loving hug. "I'm not going to school today." I was confused as to why but I understood she had her reasons for not going. I pulled away from the hug and we sat down on the steps. "How come you're not going?" She looked at me and noticed the worried expression I had plastered on my face. "It's nothing bad, just the girls aren't going either and they had invited me to the mall so I said yes." I was thrilled to know that my friends were getting along with Lauren so well. Instantly I relaxed knowing this was all Dinahs plan and that she would be their to look out for her if anything happened.

"Y/N come with me and the girls to the mall." She looked at me with those mesmerizing emerald green eyes and I honestly couldn't say no. "Alright, I'll go. What time are we supposed to go and meet them?" A smile spread across her face and I was embraced in her arms. "oh my god, yes! And in twenty minutes." We both got up and had returned to our homes to get ready for today. It was nice to just relax and take a break from school.

When Lauren and I were done getting ready, we had quickly made our way to the mall to find Dinah and the rest of the girls. Once we were inside we spotted them In the middle of the food court. Chelsea seemed to have been the only one to notice us so she got up and made her way over to Lauren and I. " We were all wondering if you guys were coming or not." Lauren and I chuckled and followed Chelsea to where everyone else was at. When we reached the table they all looked at us surprised to see that I was with Lauren.

"You all owe me five bucks." Chelsea shouted and she seemed evidently happy to see me. " You guys made a bet on whether I'd come or not?" they all nodded except Ana. "Not exactly, the bet was to see if Lauren could get you to miss school and come with us. We all thought that you wouldn't come knowing how you are with your studies." I laughed and gave Chelsea a high five for wining.

We were all walking around the mall and most of the girls had managed to spend all of their money in only one store. I had noticed Lauren hadn't bought herself a single thing so me being the generous person I am. I walked into a store by myself leaving Lauren to talk to Camila. I had walked all the way to the back of the store towards the jewelry section and saw a pair of bright pearl earrings. They were absolutely beautiful and they shined so bright. I quickly purchased them and made my way back to Lauren, I was waiting for the right time to give it to her.

I had noticed she had her jacket tied around her waste and the pocket was open, when she wasn't looking I put the box into her jacket pocket and hoped she wouldn't notice them until she gets home. When she had turned around to see me walking behind the group she came and started to walk with me. We were walking relatively close to each other and would sometimes feel her hand brush against mine. I decided to make a bold move and take hold of her hand as we walked through the mall. I noticed that she looked and smiled at me.

We had spent our entire day at the mall. The girls all started to leave one by one until it was just Lauren, Dinah, Camila, and myself. Camila and Lauren were in front of Dinah and I so I had taken the opportunity to fill her in on the past events that had occurred. "Dinah I just wanted to tell you about Laur-" she stopped me and looked at me with a smirk on her face. "I know. In fact we all know." I looked at her with a shocked expression on my face. "How the hell did you know?!" She laughed at my surprise. "Girl don't you know I'm super tight with your sister, that girl tells me everything and Lauren told us too." I surprised to know that my sister had told Dinah.

When Camila and Dinah had decided to leave, Lauren and I decided that we should go home as well. On our way home Lauren was filling me in on all the things she had talked about with the girls. When she had finished, she reached across and turned on the radio. American by Lana Del Rey was playing and I couldn't help but lower the windows and turn up the volume. Lauren seemed to like the song because she started to sing along.

Play house

Put my favorite record on

Get down

Get your crystal method on

You were like, tall, tan, drivin around the city

Flirting with the girls like you're so pretty

Springsteen is the king, don't you think

I was like, hell yeah that guy could sing

Like ooh, ooh, ohh-ooh-ooh

I had fallen in love with the sound of her voice. She had the singing voice of an angel. She was absolutely incredible. I loved how much passion she would put behind the words and when she would close her eyes every time she sang. I couldn't help but sing the next verse

You make me crazy, You make me wild

Just like a baby, spin me round like a child

Your skin so golden brown

Be young, be dope, be proud

Like an American

Ooh-ooh ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh ooh-ooh

I had stopped singing and Lauren was just staring at me with a small grin across her face. She looked down and reached across to hold my hand and I knew in that moment we wouldn't let each other fall. We would always be there to catch each other or to find one another if we ever got lost.

We had arrived home and I was walking Lauren to her front door. Our hands linked and never letting go. We weren't together but I felt like this was one step forward to our goal of being in a relationship.

Laurens POV

Y/N had honestly made my day. Our day together was coming to an end but I knew that tomorrow I would see her and we would continue to make better memories together. We had reached my front door and I wanted nothing more than to kiss her but I couldn't and I wasn't going to. We had agreed to take things in a way to know each other and that's exactly what we were going to do.

Before Y/N left I kissed her on the cheek and told her goodnight. I quickly got inside so she wouldn't say anything else, I wanted to leave her speechless. I made my way up to my room and found Taylor and Chris on my bed with smirks on their faces. I laughed knowing that they would start to ask me a million questions on how my day went with Y/N, so I told them. By the time I had finished telling them they were happy for me, happy for the both us.

I had gone to sleep happy with the warmth in my heart growing stronger.
