It was forbidden love. They were sure of it.
They met in the woods long after everyone was fast asleep.
"Merida I cant take our secret anymore. Run away with me." He told her one day in the woods.
"Hiccup... I'll run with you." She replied.
They planned out everything. In 3 days they were to leave on Toothless into the unknown. Everything went wrong. Her mom got suitors and an arranged marriage was planned.
Merida had guards around her around the clock. She couldn't even go to the restroom by herself.
Hiccup waited.
Merida got married against her will. She cried every day. She even thought about killing herself. After marriage her husband didn't let her out of her room. It was torture.
Hiccup waited.
She was forced to have kids. She didn't want to. 4 months passed and she got a fever and lost her child. Shortly after she died of an unknown reason.
5 years have passed and Hiccup had long since died of a broken heart.
People say that sometimes you can see a ghostly figure searching for someone in the woods, and sometimes wailing.
It was not her fault or Hiccup's. Sometimes though, things don't go as planned.
