Promises (Ninjago's Kai x Reader)

Episode 13 - A Choice Made

"I'll get you out of there in a jiff!" Lloyd says. Then everything on his side goes quiet.

"So all we can do is just wait? This is killing me!" Kai groans.

Uncle turns around to face him. "Patience. Lloyd will figure something out," he says.

Kai rolls his eyes. "We're putting out trust into the son of the greatest villain Ninjago has ever seen."

I push my body away from the bar it was leaning on and stalk towards him. "What's that supposed to mean?" I hiss, getting really close to his face.

Kai's gaze softens slightly. "Nothing. Its just... is anyone else having doubts about this plan? Just because we don't have our weapons doesn't mean we cant use our powers. We just need to focus."

Uncle shakes his head. "The chamber was built out of Vengestone. Our Elemental Powers are rendered useless. Patience."

Kai rolls his eyes and sighs exasperatedly. He turns away from me and paces over to Jay and Cole, who are playing checkers with whatever they could find on them. Ignoring their complaints, he bends down and takes a bottle of hair oil. He hurries back over to the edge of the cage and lathers himself in the stuff.

"Woah, greaseball. How about warning us before you do that!" Cole exclaims.

"You can make all the jokes you want, but I don't think we need our special powers to get out of here. Just a little ingenuity," Kai replies. He somehow manages to slip through the bars.

"Alright slickster, but now what?" Cole says.

Kai smirks. "Now we play a little game called ball and chain."

Kai grabs the nearest chain he can reach and threads it through the bars of our cage. He shimmies down the chain and begins to swing back and forth. His efforts swing the cage. After a few comments on throwing weight around, we begin to run back and forth across the length of the cage. Eventually, we gain enough momentum that our entire cell is swinging back and forth. Kai manages to swing from the chain and grab onto the ledge. Pythor was waiting for him.

"Great, we are in such a better place than we were before," Cole says, aggressively rolling his eyes.

"And now we cant even play checkers," Zane adds.

Jay points accusingly at Kai. "I was gonna be kinged, Kai!"

"Don't worry, Sensei. I have faith in Lloyd," Nya says.

I roll my eyes and shake my head. While I love my brother, I don't have Nya's optimistic outlook. He is just a kid who has no experience in fighting. If the six teens and an adult cant do it, what makes her think a ten year old can?

"Hey look up there! It's Lloyd!" Kai whisper shouts.

We all stand up and turn to face my brother, who is at the entrance to the cave. He begins to gracefully descend the steps. Then he begins to ungracefully descend them. Lloyd trips over a rock and face plants. He then tumbles the rest of the way to the bottom, alerting the Serpentine of his presence. He climbs to his feet, shaking his head slightly, before pointing accusingly at Pythor.

"Well, if we don't meet again, Pythor. Unhand the Ninja, or suffer humiliation against the Green Ninja!"

Pythor scoffs. "Oh, yeah? You and what army?"

Lloyd pauses. "Uh.. how about my army of fists!" He shouts. He begins frantically punching at nothing, but looses balance and falls. The snakes burst out laughing.
