Emma POV
12/13/2014
James came to my room today.
"Hey," he waved at my door.
"Hi," I said back to him.
"You want to go for a walk?"
"Where to?"
"The water fountain in the plaza?"
We got an escort to walk us down to the plaza.
James found us an empty bench.
"So, how are you doing, Emma?" He asked.
"Good. Good."
"Really?"
"No."
"Oh."
He stopped talking for a few minutes until he broke the silence, again.
"So about the painting, the other day."
"Can we not talk about it?" I asked.
"Why?"
"Look, I like you and I don't want to discuss that right now."
"Did you say you like me?" He asked.
"Oh god. Did I say that?"
"Yeah. You did."
I stopped talking before I said anything else stupid.
I don't even believe in falling in love.
"Emma?" He asked.
"James?"
"Look, I don't know what's going to happen to me or whether I will even be here tomorrow, but if we have a chance together, then I'd be willing to stay."
Something overtook me and I grabbed his shirt and pulled him close,
"Let's take a chance, James," I said as I pulled him into an awkward kiss.
