Kakashi wakes me up by kissing all over my face repeatedly. I giggle, "goodmorning to you too, Kakashi."
He smiles when I open my eyes, "goodmorning Sora, I have a gift for you."
I tilt my head to the side, "a gift?"
He nods, "you forgot?"
I give him a weird look.
"It's June ninth..." he says.
"June ninth...." I say slowly.
"Sora... you forgot about your own birthday?" Kakashi asks.
"My birthday...?" I ask.
He nods and pulls me out of bed, "Your birthday!"
I smile, "oh Kakashi, it's been so long I actually forgot!"
He smiles, "I have a gift for you, now come on."
He leads me out to the living room and I see a small gift box with a huge bow on it. I get on my knees in front of it and see the ribbons and bow were covering holes.
I open the lid of the box and see a tiny white fluffy kitten. I gasp, "oh my goodness."
I stare into the kittens big black eyes and she stares back at mine. I pick her up and feel her soft fur underneath my fingertips.
"Miku," I whisper.
Kakashi kneels next to me, "goes perfectly with your name."
I nod, "beautiful sky."
(Sora means sky and Miku means beautiful sky.)
Miku crawls out of my arms and licks the back of her paw. She then trots around and gets accustomed to her new home.
"What is your name?"
I stare at Miku, "you talk?"
She turns towards me with a feline smile, "of course."
Kakashi smiles even more and my jaw seems to drop lower.
"Do you like the name Miku?" I ask.
She nods, "I do!"
"Oh, right. My name is Sora," I say holding my hand out.
She puts her tiny paw in my hand.
"I am only a few months old, but soon I will have many abilities with your help," she smiles.
"Kakashi? You did all this for me?" I ask.
He nods, "I know how much you love animals... and now you have your own loyal companion to train."
Miku smiles at me, "I'm all yours!"
"Now there's only one little problem," Kakashi says with a smile.
"What's that?" I ask.
Kakashi performs a handsign and Pakkun appears with a puff of smoke.
Pakkun stares at Miku, "a cat?"
Miku smiles and holds out her paw, "Hello, I'm Miku!"
"Pakkun," he says boredly, "why are you here?"
"I am Sora's companion," she says cheerily.
"Oh boy," he says without a hint of enthusiasm.
Miku pouts, "you don't like me? I thought we could be friends."
"Doubt it," Pakkun grunts.
"Pakkun, be nice," Kakashi instructs.
"No thanks," Pakkun says as he trots away.
