Same Interest // Daniel Seavey

~Chapter Two~

The time went by so fast because the next thing I hear is Keri screaming up the staircase at Anna and Daniel calling them for dinner. The Seavey family usually have dinner extremely early because they are morning people. They all go to bed early and they are all awake early, normally to do things like exercise. It's amazing how they have stuck to this routine. On the other hand, I'm usually up way past midnight scrolling through tiktok, binge watching netflix, literally doing anything procrastinating falling asleep.

"I'm gonna head home now" I said as I stood up from the floor, we were in the middle of playing Guess Who, one of my favourite games. It sucked we had to end it though because I was winning by a mile.

I turned around to look at Anna. "Aw, I wish you could stay. Mum lately has been making us all sit down for dinner because she wants us to engage in some 'family bonding time'. It's really strange. Daniel used to take his food in his room, and I sat in the living room. She doesn't like us being separate anymore." she informed me.

"That's really strange, yeah." I answer. I picked up my phone and as a habit I checked the time. The numbers on my screen didn't fully process in my brain so I had to recheck my phone, and when I did, I realised that I should've been home an hour ago.

"Oh shoot, I was meant to be home an hour ago. How is it 8pm? You usually have dinner at like 5. How- how did this even happen? Oh my god" I panicked, reaching for my shoes.

"We could just tell your mum that you just became invisible and vanished, she'll never know you're here" Anna retaliated.

"Or we could tell her that you just sadly happened to cross the road and get hit by a car" Daniel said while walking past the room.

"Daniel!" Keri yelled from the kitchen, causing him to roll his eyes. "You might want to head home before your mum ends up calling me"

"I'm going, I'm going" I said rushing to tie up my laces on my converse. Of all the shoes, why didn't I wear slides? Oh wait. Nevermind. Anna dragged me here. She literally dragged me here. "I give up on my shoes. Oh well" I say, leaving my shoelaces untied. I pretty much sprinted out of Anna's room and found my way to the staircase.

Skipping two stairs at a time, I call out bye to Anna and Keri on my way down. Opening and closing the front door, behind me are the echoes of the two voices saying bye back.

I don't understand why Daniel and I don't get along. I swear that if we had a different first impression, we could actually be friends. I laughed to myself. Us, as friends? Yeah right. 

"What are you laughing about?" a random voice scared me, causing me to jump and fall because the shoelace got caught underneath my shoe. I then heard laughter. I thought it was Daniel but I didn't recognise the laugh.

"Very funny," I said and stood up.

"You should tie your laces, you might not have ended up like that if you did" the voice said.

I looked over and saw that it was the guy from next door. The really, really, hot neighbour.

"I was in a rush. I was meant to be home an hour ago, so I didn't bother tying them" I shrugged.

"Where abouts do you live?" he asked.

"Stalker" I replied.

"Yeah. I'm going to find where you live, sneak in through the back door, and kidnap you"

"You never know" I laughed. "I just live across the road," I pointed to my house.

"Nice house. My name's Alex. Alex Turner" he reached his hand out to shake mine.

I stuck my hand in his and shook it. "Y/N. Y/N Jones" I smiled. "Anyway, it was nice meeting you Alex but I really need to go. I don't need to get in trouble again"

He laughed. "Strict parents, gotcha. I'll see you around Jones" he said and walked back to his house.

"Oh! I live here by the way" he yelled then continued walking.

I turned around and headed towards my house, I couldn't help but squeal on the inside. This guy is one of the hottest guys I have ever seen and he just spoke to me, and I have a nickname already!

I walked inside and saw my mum in the kitchen. "Sorry, you know what it's like over there," I said.

"Just get ready for dinner and finish your homework, you've got school tomorrow" my mum said. I nodded and ran upstairs. I entered my room and jumped on my bed, pulling my phone out. I couldn't wait to tell Anna about this, she's going to freak!
