“Don’t touch her. Nick will be fucking pissed,” Becky tells Jessica and we break down into fits of laughter.

“Seriously girls, Nick and I are just friends. Best of friends.” I say stressing the last two words. They won’t stop insisting that Nick has feelings for me. It’s been a week now and it is even starting to get to me.

“You are so oblivious of how he treats you, he can literally take a bullet for you.” Sophie add and the girls chuckle.

“I can break a limb for him too, that’s what best friends do, right?” Nick and I have always had each other’s back from day one. I even lost count on the number of times he has risked his life for me in the last three years. Like how Jace almost stabbed him two years ago…

“You see him as a best friend but he obviously doesn’t see you that way.” Becky tells me and I shake my head.

“No way, Nick doesn’t have feelings for me, he has a girlfriend that he hopes to get back too one luck day.”

“I would give anything to have him look at me the way he looks at you.” That’s Jessica. I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes. I know how it feels to love someone who can’t love you back.

“How does he look at me?” I ask curiously. Honestly i have never noticed anything special in the way he looks at me.

“Like you are some precious gem he wouldn’t want to lose.”

“Now that’s so exaggerated.” I say with an eye roll.

“Wait how old is Nick?” Sophie asks and I turn to look at her.

“Twenty six, why?”

“And he thinks his girlfriend is still single waiting for him to go back to her?”

“I know, but she is his only motivation in life. He wanted to become a better person for her.”

“Do you think she is still waiting for him?”

“She probably moved on,” I exhale sharply flumping myself on Jess’ bed.

“Poor boy, he will be so broken when gets out of this place.” and I wouldn’t want to watch him broken it would fucking hurt me.

*~*~*

“What’s the occasion?” Jessica and I ask flatulently as we step in the dining hall that is decorated beyond recognition.

Everyone from wing four is in the hall and I can see some new faces too. Some are on the dance floor dancing slowly to the music playing in the background while others are sitting idly watching people dance.

“A farewell party?” Sophie asks almost excitedly and I crease my eyebrows at her.

“A fare well party? I don’t get it.” Jess says walking in and I cock my head to the side quizzically as I wait for Sophie to explicate. She has stayed in this wing longer than us and she probably knows a lot of things that goes on here.

“Who is being disenthralled?” Jess and I glance at each other.

“One of us is going home,” she tells us when we keep looking at her blankly and a smile pulls on my lips automatically as her words sinks in. I knew i was going to leave this shitty place I just didn’t expect it to be so soon. Oh my God I can’t believe this is happening today.

I am so excited.

“It is 6:30 they can’t free anyone at this time.” Jessica argues logically and I frown, she is right maybe Sophie is wrong.

“I said a party…of course one can only leave tomorrow.” This is really happening ooh my God.

“You’ve been here longer it is only fair if they free you first.” Ooh my God, Jess is so selfless. I wouldn’t care if it is fair or not as long as they free me.
